I'm calling for the sun to rise tomorrow morning. If it does I must be made king or I might call for it not to rise the day after...

Russia Detonates Worlds Most Powerful Bomb

As long as it's organic and made from fair trade explosives... -
So say to the EA whilst staring at him intently... "each day I tell god that it is one less day until you die" then go past his window each day and look at him whilst nodding and counting down on your fingers.

Internet Banking - Access Problems?
doh replied to Boughtin95's topic in House prices and the economy
Maybe you have a computer virus. Have you been browsing any specialist gentlemen's leisure sites and clicked something you shouldn't? -
Why are all your posts like lovesick tributes to our incompetent PM? Do you actually have any views on house prices or economics in general? Other forums are available. Why don't you use them?

S K Y : Brown: " Our Action Plan Will Work"
doh replied to Realistbear's topic in House prices and the economy
Stock market crashing. Unemployment soaring. Currency diving. He certainly seems to be working his brown magic. Maybe you want to vote for him because he's just such a lovely person. -

Channel 4 : The "2007 Lending Levels" Question
doh replied to Sledgehead's topic in House prices and the economy
Saw this. Good stuff from channel 4. Hopefully the rest of the media will pick up on it. McFall agreed it was wrong before remembering the malevolent gaze of old one eye and saying that it was to early to say what was the correct thing to do. -
D O W Open Very Weak -- More Big Drops To Come?

Down 250 now. But we must be positive and stop winging. It's higher than if it was down -350, praise be. And think of the children. -

The past few weeks have been volatile as each US/UK/EU announcement has led to a dead cat bounce followed by another sell off. Seems like yesterday Brown played his last card. Big interest rate cut plus 500 billion pound bailout. There's nothing left for him to do. Problem is I don't think his card is an Ace. Probably more like a 7 of clubs.

What he would refer to as a 'looser'.

"Global, global, stability, global. Nothing to do with me. It was global. I've been pressing for better regulations but other countries ignored me. It's their fault. It's global." What a complete and utter *****.

I was in HSBC on Friday and there was a 3 hour queue to open a bank account. The branch staff have obviously been culled to the minimum long ago. With all the HO people going now the Jubilee line is getting quieter every day.

Vendors Have Not Been Reducing Because They Think
doh replied to 0q0's topic in House prices and the economy
In your scenario, has anyone got a job any more? Also, with a bailout and lowered interest rates why would prices come down as these are both inflationary? -
The rise in the November quote is a bet against the dollar. The extra rise in October is what Wad said.

Crude oil isn't a chemically consistent material. There are infinitely different varieties. In order to price variouse grades of oil 'marker' grades are used with price quoted by various different sources. The main marker grades are Brent crude from the north sea and Nymex WTI (WTI is the crude and Nymex the publisher).

Observer: Wall Street Worries The Crisis Is Not Yet Over
doh replied to eric pebble's topic in House prices and the economy
From IG Index... What is the new policy governing UK shares? On 18 September 2008 the Financial Services Authority (FSA) decided to prohibit the creating or increasing of a short position in more than 30 UK quoted banks, general insurance and life assurance companies. What are the specific UK shares that I cannot sell short? A full list of affected stocks can be found here. You cannot open a new down bet or increase the size of an existing down bet on any of these stocks. I guess you can bet against the index but some of those dead cat bounce banks look tempting. -

A perfect time to open a short position. Pity we don't live in a free country which would allow such a position to be taken. -

So what he's saying is that the value of your investment may go down as well as up. And he thinks this is a bad thing?
