  1. Automated driving will eventually be compulsory. When the Boomers die off I expect Gen X to already be onboard with the advantages (as the first real Tech generation). Things like traffic lights would no longer be required and Public Transport eradicated. People on here saying "It'll never work" are heads in the sand. It's only going one way. And I'm a skeptic too but want to see better, safer, transport.
  2. It already is. There is no "N.I. pot of money".
  3. How is 3.8% inflation seen as being acceptable by the people of this country?
  4. If you can then switch to another, cheaper, provider?
  5. If anyone thinks Labour will do anything different to what the Tories have been doing then they are deluded.
  6. They see that Labour will do nothing different to this current lot of Tories so it makes sense.
  7. Coming up to 8 years on and they are still moaning about it. Hopefully another 20 or 30 years of the rage not subsiding but preferably up to death bed for full satisfaction.
  8. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1991/56/part/II/chapter/II Pretty simply, the Secretary of State can tell the water company to get their act in order. For anything. Including pumping untreated sewage into rivers and seas, as they see fit If they don't comply then the Secretary of State can apply to the High Court to get someone else in charge of the current Thames Water Board.
  9. What numbers are you looking at? I see £7.4Bill coming in and £2.5Bill in costs?
  10. Pretty simple to write into the contract for any train operator to say "you must run a sleeper train service and the ticket price is maximum of £thisprice or you lose the franchise".
  11. Do people know that the income from the train operators doesn't even cover the staff costs for running the railway? Let alone the maintenance, stations etc? All ticket prices are still massively subsidized by the taxpayer. You couldn't make it up.
