Nuggets Mahoney
According to Dr. Mercola there are people who are carb types, other who are protein types and even others who are mixed types. That's why high protein low carb diets works for some but not others. Clearly you have found that you are a carb type: http://nutritionaltype.mercola.com/ Alternatively, maybe, those who've developed or are prone to insulin resistance and those who haven't, yet https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insulin_resistance
MrPin
Yep I e gone from paleo to high carb low-ish fat and mostly vegan, and I'm feeling better for it. Go on! Eat more lard!
JoeDavola
Alternatively, maybe, those who've developed or are prone to insulin resistance and those who haven't, yet https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insulin_resistance As confusing as it is (I put my dad on a low carb diet years ago when he was diagnosed with diabetes) there is evidence of people controlling their diabetes using a high carb low fat diet - google Dr Neal Bernard for more info. DTMark
Why is it that when I eat eggs, I sometimes get a headache afterwards? There must be an interaction with something else because it doesn't happen every time. Though I don't know what the other thing is. Does anyone else get this? Is it because I don't eat meat (haven't for over 20 years) and so my body finds it hard to process?

crashmonitor
According to Dr. Mercola there are people who are carb types, other who are protein types and even others who are mixed types. That's why high protein low carb diets works for some but not others. Clearly you have found that you are a carb type: http://nutritionaltype.mercola.com/ Absolutely a subscriber to this theory. See myself as a carb low fat type and the only bad numbers I ever get are cholesterol...the opposite to what you would expect. otherwise low weight, low blood pressure, balanced blood sugar. Conversely have overweight friends that live on a diet of cheese, meat and butter.....obese, high bold pressure, high blood sugar, border line diabetes but low cholesterol even without statins. Probably shows you have a predisposition to weight and cholesterol, and even doing the right thing will still leave you struggling. Or, indeed, may be high fat diets are a way to get low cholesterol.
