Hmm, maybe not, maybe fake more like?

A bit like my SS Officer's quartz wristwatch?

Things so un-PC, they make you laugh.

I want to believe it is real. Remember it's not so many years ago, in the UK that the bus drivers union were divided on whether black people should be allowed to join. A fine example of International socialism at work.

And who remembers sweet cigarettes? Or those toy cigarettes, which you blew to make fake "smoke" come out? All seem very wrong now.

I had a smoking monkey!

It was a monkey that, er, smoked.

Bought it of a pikey that sold stuff door to door

Probably collectible, as it seems so wrong today. ^_^

Apparently boys are not bought toy guns so much anymore. I had cowboy style cap gun, a combination spud/cap gun/water pistol (Blue, but I can't remember the name), and something known as a Sekeden gun which fired gold coloured clay pellets. I suppose today all the shooting is done in computer games.

When my brothers boy was young he wanted a toy gun. The toy guns in the shop were plastic, brightly coloured, rubbish and expensive. A trip to the gun shop yielded a starting pistol that used short .22 blank, grip the right size for a childs hand. Operated like a conventional revolver. He had the loudest toy gun of any of his mates. Brilliant.

Confused next doors dog a bit.

'Spud Gun IV' is one of my all-time Playstation favourites.

Our Police use spud guns. They have to shout 'Tater! Tater!' as a warning before using them.

I'd completely forgotten about indoor fireworks! We used to have the same sets in the 60s. They were pretty underwhelming though. Sweet cigarettes were common, and also packs of chocolate cigarettes with rice(?)paper on each cig. Chocolate cigars covered with silver foil wrappers were around before Christmas. For one of my birthdays in 1964 I chose a replica Luger pistol and revolver with gunbelt,as advertised in TV21 comic. They used caps (presumably long-since banned) and we took them to school. At Primary school we also played cowboys and Indians, and Tommies versus Germans. Anyone doing that now would no doubt end up on "ze list".

Outdoor fireworks make the best Indoor fireworks.

Don't remind me of that party. :( One of my GFs friends was lighting proper outdoor fireworks in the kitchen, before putting them outside.

Ironically he is a safety manager for Railtrack (absolutely true).

I've got a Webbley Tempest somewhere. But everyone I knew I had a Gamo (? Looked like a colt)/, it was only £20, and it was chrome, but not anywhere near as powerful as the Tempest. The dream pistol, and still is today, is the Weihrauch HW45 - it s nearly £300 and one of the most powerful air pistols available. I never got a cross bow or an air rifle, although I knew others that did.

I will take that as a compliment.

It is! I have to wipe away stupidity, unkindness, and PC claptrap. Then my mission will be complete. I think it might take some time.

That's great. I'd like one for £20! I'm not a pistol man, more of a rifle man really. I do hope the girls were being honest?

The Tempest was the last of the real Webley pistols. They made them from 1979 until the company went bust in 2005. I still shoot one for old times sake. Totally agree about the HW45. I used to shoot pistol HFT with one and a friend of mine kills rats very efficiently with his.

I didn't know they went bust - but I guess with the ban on online sales, that must have really hurt them.

You have to go to a gun shop and be over 18 years old - Like that is ever going to happen!

Does it work on compressed gas?
