interestrateripoff
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/teachers-could-go-prison-dont-3382904 Teachers could face jail if they fail to report fears of child abuse, under radical plans being considered by Labour.A new "victims' taskforce" set up by Ed Miliband will hold its first meeting to discuss the controversial proposal. Members of the group include former Director of Public Prosecutions Keir Starmer and Stephen Lawrence's mother Baroness Doreen Lawrence. Under proposals being considered are the introduction of "mandatory reporting of child sex abuse" and a new victims' right to review decisions by the police not to charge suspected attackers. A Labour source said the party would "seriously consider" the controversial proposal to force teachers, social workers and other professionals to report abuse if the taskforce recommended it. While popular it could leave some professionals who deal with children regularly open to lawsuits. This seems an utterly stupid law, which means Labour will enact it as part of it's big brother operation. I wonder how many children will end up in care because some paranoid teacher fearing for their own job trigger a child abuse investigation. Seems a nightmare scenario for people who suspect teacher X might be shagging pupil Y.
Danny Deflation
Populist nonsense from Labour. I suspect most teachers would report abuse anyway if they knew it was going on - as any decent person would. (Edit: mind you, colleagues were slow to report suspicions about nonce Jeremy Forrest who ran off to France with a chiild.)
The Eagle
Have I missed something? Is Labour back in government now? If not then why should anyone give a toss about what the 'opposition' party is dreaming about...

Take Me Back To London!
Would this have something to do about fear of schools, social services (and the police) to report or investigate sex abuse cases due to political correctness and community cohesion? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/10060570/Oxford-grooming-gang-We-will-regret-ignoring-Asian-thugs-who-target-white-girls.html Oxford grooming gang: We will regret ignoring Asian thugs who target white girlsWhat a god-awful mess this country has got itself into over multiculturalism, and once again our fear of racism will lead to the betrayal of hundreds of young girls Rochdale, Rotherham, Derby, Oxford. The towns change, but the pattern is always the same. Gangs of men, mainly of Pakistani Muslim heritage, lure white girls as young as 10 with gifts and displays of affection. Next, the girl is raped as a way of “breaking her in”. Once the child’s spirit is subdued, and her mind fogged with drugs, she is sold for sex to multiple men at £200 a time. If the girl tries to break away, a gang member might threaten to behead her or firebomb her home. Mohammed Karrar, who was found guilty in the Oxford sex-grooming case this week, took a scalding hairpin and branded one girl so she would know she was his property. Later, the gang gave the same girl a DIY abortion. She was 12 years old. And this, all this, is happening in Britain now. In a particularly warped twist, the pimp will teach his victim that her parents are racist towards Asians, which is why they disapprove of their relationship – absolutely nothing, of course, to do with him being a violent, controlling thug. Gang members have grown wise to the wimpy ways of Western society. They exploit the fact that police, newly trained in “cultural sensitivity”, are terrified of being accused of racism. So the pimps operate with impunity until, years later, the slave girls find the courage to testify in court against their masters. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/oxford-child-sex-grooming-gang-1889867 Oxford child sex grooming gang: Calls for inquiry as authorities accused of 'turning a blind eye'A gang of violent paedophiles was convicted yesterday of forcing terrified young girls to become sex slaves. The seven men – who began grooming, raping and beating girls nine years ago – targeted vulnerable children in care homes and charged perverts £600 to carry out violent sex attacks on victims. A Daily Mirror investigation today reveals how opportunities to smash the gang were missed over and over again after a string of failures by police and social services dating back eight years. Charities last night accused authorities of “turning a blind eye” to the victims’ torment because they were labelled “tearaways”. The gang – which included two sets of brothers Akhtar Dogar, 32, and Anjum Dogar, 30, and Mohammed Karrar, 38, and Bassam Karrar, 33, were found guilty of 59 charges in one of the worst cases of child sex abuse Britain has seen. Assad Hussain, 32, Kamar Jamil, 27, Zeeshan Ahmed, 27, were the other monsters convicted of offences including rape, arranging prostitution and trafficking victims as young as 11. Their appalling offences detailed in court relate to six girls but police fear the total number of girls abused and sold by the mainly Asian gang could be as many as 60. Based in Oxford the men – of Pakistani and North African origin – made sure their white victims became addicted to heroin, crack and alcohol and then forced them into prostitution. The perverts then sold the girls to paedophiles across Britain. Child rape parties would regularly take place at the Nanford Guest House in Oxford. thecrashingisles
They should report it regardless of whether it's going on or not. You can never be too sure and the more children are on the radar of the authorities, the safer they'll be.
Executive Sadman
Miliband has already said he'll extend 'anti-discrimination' laws like those that apply to religious and racial groups to the armed forces. (so that'll be profession then) Be under no illusion, the guy is an unashamed totalitarian. Whatever freedoms they forgot to steal between 1997-2010, theyll make sure they remove in the next 5 years. You can never be too sure and the more children are on the radar of the authorities, the safer they'll be. Seriously?! Its state sanctioned care homes where most of the abuse goes on. As bad as some parents are, kids are still better off with them than the sickos who infest the public sector.
thecrashingisles
Seriously?! No, I thought it was obvious enough not to need a smiley. However, on second thoughts it probably too accurately reflects how some people think.
The Masked Tulip
Teachers sleeping with their pupils aren't getting jail time so there appears no chance of jail time for what Labour is considering.
