Ta for the reply, mkz.

Don't forget to get your friends and family to sign it too.

That won't be possible I'm afraid. Most of my family and friends are owner occupiers, some have overpaid for their homes by thousands. They will not support this argument.

Won't any of them want to buy a bigger home at any point? Don't any of them have children who will want to buy a home at any point?

...if only that was what really happend to the money. ;)

Well yes, I assume it goes to general funds....nothing stopping the government from re-cycling the money back into council housing though. The problem is that the Tories, Lab and Libdems all believe in rigged markets....

Okay OP, you've forced me into it...I'LL SIGN!

And yet you've still made the effort to post that comment..

Care to suggest anything better or are you just after the 'most threads trolled in one day' title?

Most threads trolled? As you can see from my postcount, I rarely post here.

These E-Petitions are stupid and a waste of time. See the Wikipedia entry on Slacktivism.

Thanks. We're over 100 votes now, so 0.1% of the way to 100K...

Please do what you can to get others to sign, too.

Realistically to get this moving we need to see a snowballing effect. Others beyond HPCers and their immediate family need to see this and get behind it. There's only so much we can do to push it, but we'll need others to run with the baton if we're going to get anywhere near 100K.

Yes one of them wants to upgrade from his one bedroomed flat that he bought in 2007 for a house in another few years. Although his flat has lost c.£25k (even with the improvements) he has a good job with pay increases since he bought so I think he will be one of the rare ones may not be badly affected. I don't think he will believe house prices will drop and he isn't one that can be easily persuaded.
