rolf
OK these are the gems that I like. King Ping Pong wasted many hours on this: http://www.fetchfido.co.uk/games/king-ping-pong/King-pp.htm At first it seems impossible. But you develop a great skill for it. Quake Live FREE and unbelievable, looks just like the original games. I've never owned a next gen console so the graphics look fine to me. Works even on my laptop that does not have a 3D card in it. http://www.quakelive.com Need to install a plugin or something but well worth it. Inokashira Line Simulator 2 I just found this. I kid you not, its a train simulator! Strangely addictive, features real video. I thought it was some kind of Google Earth hack but at one point I saw birds fly across the track! http://www.realrailway.com/en/ino2/simulator2.html OK share yours please. Not those massive sites with 1 good game in 100 but the ones you actually play. Cheers rolf

Gigantic Purple Slug
There was a great PAC MAN one but I can't remember the address. I'm looking forward to when someone does all the ZX Spectrum stuff online. Classic.

deflation
http://www.molleindustria.org/en/oiligarchy Quite enjoyed that one. Managed to get to the year 2047 before the oil ran out in Iraq (after the game insisted I fabricate a war of course) and people wanted a green existence. Peaked at $167 a barrel, funny that!?!? Made it to 2049 the 2nd time with oil at $47 but the game finishes anyway. Fixed ending I think.

okaycuckoo
Tremulous - based on the quake engine. Great FPS - plenty of kills, different weapons/aliens, but strategy gets some good wins against the odds. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tremulous

I've never watched it but I thought it was from Spirited Away, same artist. I saw Totoro again because someone retweeted this: http://twitpic.com/219b03 Pretty cool eh? libspero
Not browser based I'm afraid.. but wasted many a happy hour playing Wolf ET in my time. Completely free multiplayer online version of Castle Wolfenstein. The dogs nuts IMHO. Edit: Better LINKY

rolf
#Yeah the mouse thing is weird. You need to click outside the browser window and back, keep playing arund with it and it fixes itself. As for the train thing, yeah sure its a video, but to all intents and purposes it is also a perfect train simulator. All you have is a point on a line controlled by a handle. You can even save your own replays and view the replays of the best players, they are incredible smooth!
Woot
Love this, and so do my kids... D&D, tons of quests, challenges, levels; typical mages, warriors and archers; member and free accounts; very regular updates, extensions and support; lots of new quests coming online all the time; good humour and good mods; good range of battles inc Player v Player, wide range of races, enemies and monsters of different kinds; lots of puzzle solving if that's your thing, or upskilling if you prefer. I spend far too much time on it. I've found it good for my kids too once they reach the age when they want to do something a bit more challenging but can't play things like CoD because of suitability. http://www.runescape.com

As you say, it's good for kids (most of the players seem to be young which only served to make me feel like an old git) as it's free and bloomin' big. In the end I gave my user to some Year 10 kid I had in the office on work experience; made is day, bless him.

Might need to click refresh servers or mess about with the "show/don't show servers" controls. Google "tremulous forums". Or don't - you might become addicted. Get out before it's too late! deflation
FraggerBrilliant Physics Based Grenade Throwing Game I was enjoying playing that. Reminded me of Worms. After about 20 screens, my latop suddenly shut itself down. I thought for a second it was low battery but I was plugged into the mains. Hope it's not a fault or virus in the game. I used to play their online chess. Prety much ruined my degree. Then they spent about 5 years updating the site (read concentrating on runescape). Finally came back a while ago but it's not the same. At the least the Gowers made hundreds of millions from runescape so what do they care?
