  1. In the short term the £ is up about 2 cents since the lib/lab collapse/Gordon quits rumours. Just bouncing off resistance at 1.50.
  2. Of course you would, the part that wasn't in gold - unless you got the percentages right to balance it. Just sick of the whole thing now. I don't want to be a currency speculator or goldbug or play the markets. I just wanted an affordable ****ing house.
  3. Good. Now parcel them up and post to: Mr. G. Brown c/o (Still) 10 Downing St. ..... Though maybe substitute a cheaper brand bottle first.
  4. So it's a bit like the UK in 2015 then?.
  5. I've been saying for months that there'll be claw marks down the hallway and holes in the doorframe, maybe even some broken nail left behind. He needs to.just.GO. He has no mandate. (Unless it's with Mandelson later this evening)
  6. Yep it's the holiday Monday that does that... So that means there still isn't an official Black Friday thread which means.....
  7. Why would they raise rates when we're in the middle of a deflationary death spiral?. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/economics/7680576/Shop-prices-pushed-higher-by-rising-petrol-costs.html
  8. There have been many better times to buy - the best one being exactly the same time Gordon was selling.
  9. Loved the little slip the R4 presenter just made 'There'll be more mortgage I mean budget news..' All they ever think about isn't it.
  10. Just going o/t for a bit, have you considered making it?. £100 for a machine but you'll get about 250 litres from a sack of beans (about £20 last year, haven't bought any recently) so less than 10p a litre plus electricity of course. Not as nice as the shop milk but it's a lot cheaper .
  11. No no you've got it wrong, it's supposed to be unexpected.
  12. Labour haven't even managed N.I. That explains Gordon's lack of empathy and machine like repetition of phrases - he's a Terminator.
  13. If you can get one... Grr it just doesn't want to display
  14. They probably already ran their own model at 30% and didn't like what they saw.
  15. I thought it would have to be a quarter of 'positive growth'?. No change from last time is - umm - no change.
  16. I'd guess about 70% of my net income is tied up in housing, either in paying rent for this place or saving to buy. We have all the 'stuff' we could ever want, plenty of food but we work like slaves for the chance to have a tiny crumb of land.
  17. Problem is it seems all MPs have at least 2 houses. Whilst we've been sitting here eagerly awaiting the HPC christmas, the turkeys have been taking over the farm.
  18. One little bit that always puzzles me about the 'weaker Pound helps exports' thing - what do we use to buy the raw materials and energy needed to make things to export? (OK I know we only make and export dodgy financial instruments but....)
