19 year mortgage 8itch
Found 20p in the pub last night as well. So 26p yesterday. False economy, how much did you spend in the pub? You only need to read the Tesco/coffee thread to see that going out and socialising in public places is not something you can waste your money on unless you are a banking millionaire. justthisbloke
I asked my wife what would be the smallest denomination of road-gift for which she would get off her bike to collect. I was a bit alarmed to by her reply: "a fiver". Expensive woman, you see.

Very sound advice in these penurious times. You may well have saved the spendthrift from becoming homeless, and an alcoholic. Many women these days demand a RangeRover or Porsche. Edited July 8, 2012 by juvenal

First time I've been out in a couple of months. Clearly I'm having far too much of a hedonistic lifestyle...

scottbeard
I managed to get in on the act this week - found a folded up £10 note on the floor! A relatively busy street too: how could it have lain there unnoticed?!

It might be wise to know exactly how much you have in your pocket at all times. Edited July 9, 2012 by juvenal

If you don't look you won't find and for most people a folded up note will be difficult to spot especially when distracted with phone etc.. Could be it had only just fallen and you got lucky being the first to spot it.

Take Me Back To London!
Just found another £2. Amazing considering the weather. Well done! When are you going to pay it in? It is good weather for searching for coins if you got a metal detector. Edited July 10, 2012 by Take Me Back To London!

Vagabond
I found 300 Sing $ in my travel bag that I had forgotten about yesterday. I'm not sure if it counts though as it was finding my own money. Plus it wont go off my mortgage as I don't have one. I'll just spend it on beer and food. Mrs Bear
Let's up the ambition a bit. Where are we most likely to find pound coins? I often find pound coins (and others) in the rubber seal of my washing machine. Occcasionally I've also found nice clean wet fivers. Any washing machine repair men on this thread?
