uncle_monty
BBC just showed Merv in a prime box at the tennis. While we have growing inflation, increasing unemployment, falling house prices, etc. Merv continues to flagrantly enjoy the perks. And when the public finally twig that its terminally fooked, Merv can put his hand up and say "not my fault gov!". What complacency. What arrogance. Truly, jobs for the boys on a massive scale. Ash4781
So is Mr King "all work no play", spending his free time buried in economics textbooks? Far from it. A big sports fan, he is as happy discussing the tactics of his beloved Aston Villa as he is the finer points of endogenous growth theory. Cricket is another passion and Mr King still plays occasionally. He is president of the Chance to Shine campaign to encourage more cricket in state schools. He often turns up at international meetings carrying a tennis racket. He used to play former Fed chief Alan Greenspan on either side of the Atlantic. He once lost to the 78-year-old Mr Greenspan, but blamed it on a lousy doubles partner http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2007/jan/1...trates.business

uncle_monty
http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2007/jan/1...trates.business Very interesting. As a point of principle, I just think that civil servants should not have their noses in the trough.
DementedTuna
Hey now, the women's single isn't just about gawking at hot ladies in short skirts you know! There's a lot more to it than that... they also make noises as if they're getting humped by a shetland pony! The Masked Tulip
Give the guy a break- he's just perving! I have managed to avoid viewing this thread today. I have only read the above post. Hey guys, isn't that why all men watch tennis? Even to this day I still have a wonderment about where female tennis players keep their spare ball. laurejon
Whilst Merv was watching Tennis, Gordon was out playing golf. Unfortunately he finds it difficult to get someone to play with as he is always Out for a Bogey.
