Now there is basically no difference between them and 'new' Labour. Their biggest selling point sems to be that they are not Labour. There used to be pretty clearly defined values between the various political parties, but these days they're all pretty much the same... punitive enviro-taxes, over-regulation, punitive enviro-taxes, over-regulation, punitive enviro-taxes, over-regulation, punitive enviro-taxes, over-regulation, punitive enviro-taxes, over-regulation, ad infinitum. It's pretty much a case of "vote Conservative 'cause we'll only rub dog shit in your face six days a week"... as opposed to the seven days a week that Labour are doing it. Sorry guys, there is a bigger picture than just plain old "house prices". The conservatives always have been the safe bet on the economy, and effectively gave a clown like Brown 10 years for free. Imagine what the conservatives could have done with that cash?Listening to Dave on R5 Live this morning he is on top form at the mo, some fat sounding geordie bird (not exactly Tory heartland) almost offered to have his babies "Because he sounds like a nice man". Cameron will be the vehicle which gets the conservatives back to power, and over time, fix the horrendous mess that Labour have generated. He replied by saying he was a member of this organisation - which does NOTHING for tenants and simply promotes the concept of buy to let - on a much larger scale, with even more tax breaks than they already enjoy. That makes me, as a property bear, about as popular as a stiffy on the pope in my household. Dont worry, the tories know what is going to happen. They are just glad they are not at the reigns this time when it happens. And Whilst I love to slate BTL, the property bubble would have happened anyway. I see it like this, they are taking the hit for me and at the same time, providing me a roof over my head at a significant discount. Feel the love dude! However, if you look on your nearest MPs web page you will probably find they are trying to deal with record drug and alcohol problems in their constituency. These problems are symptoms. Low self-esteem and the high cost of living (i.e. housing costs) are the cause! I am not saying I have any answers, just that most likely party to take over after the next election don’t either! What about the Macmillan boom/bust, the Heath boom/bust and the Thatcher/Lawson boom bust. Safe bet my **** (bottom) - neither party has had a clue or will ever have a clue how to abstain from the electoral free ride of a boom, and they ultimately lose power because of the bust that inevitably follows. I've looked at her wiki page and from it I gather she hasn't been to university. So I take it she hasn't got a degree in economics. She's obviously talented, having landed herself a job presenting that property porn programme. But how does she get the job of housing advisor to David Cameron? Being able to value a property and having some sales patter isn't enough to make policy decisions is it? I mean when they ask her about the future direction of house prices and subtitle her as 'Kirsty Allsopp housing expert', she doesn't know anything more than a experienced Estate agent does she? BTL was the fuel that allowed the fire to burn so quickly, they spectacularly held up the massive pyramid scam of HPI, FTB are different altogether than BTL, one has at least some sense of the value of money while the other thinks it magically appears from nowhere.
