I hate it when these ex-PM's or MP's spout off.  Their political capital is spent. They had their 15 minutes and spaffed away any chances they had.  They should just shut the f__k up and go away.

"Hey Tone, you know housebuilding's down? Any measures to counter - I wanna unload a few mill of Bellway?"

"We still on for August on your yacht?"

"Yeah, Tone, of course."

"I'll see what I can do."

Ahh ! Mr Tuberculosis (TB) has come out from his 'I'm very, very rich now thank you, lifestyle" to yak his chops in the public arena.

This individual is so pro religious he would make Oliver Cromwell come across as a atheist, the last of his protegee he had, you know the one that was conceived while staying with the queen ,was baptized where John the Baptist supposedly did his dipping of the heads routine.

When TB did his political act , you know when he did 'his', I'll pretend to be a socialist routine and became leader of a party he renamed, New Labour. He was told to tone down his very strong religious beliefs ,I wonder why ?

Now your maybe asking yourself , why I'm focusing on his religious beliefs ? that's because when it comes to lying , this guy is a 'professional' a 'connoisseur' he is so blatant in his lying technique, he managed to get this nation to go to war and then re-elect him again . Wow !! What a bunch of gullible f##kers 'We' the British public are , even when we knew he had blatantly lied .

Only someone who believes in a mythical deity and has a need for a invisible friend could pull something like that off , how do they manage this ? even though they have a belief system equivalent to someone growing up into adulthood that carried on believing in Santa Clause.

It's because in their heads they do it for the right moral reasons .

Religious types believe they're allowed to deceive so long as it 's for the right moralistic reasons and Mr TB certainly proved that !, by going on telly many years later and stating that if ! the lies he told, to get us involved in the Iraq war hadn't worked he would have chosen others.

You're paying him too much respect by lumping him in with others.

Yes. I'm sure all those Neoconservatives in Washington had only the best interests of the common man and woman in the streets in Iraq in mind when embarking on that particular crusade.

Saddam was a monster. There is no if, buts, or maybes. Speak to some Iraqis. They were terrified of him with good reason.

I made no comment on economic imperialism.

Oh yeah he was. But Isis is worse. Fantasising about toppling despots in the middle east is fine until you realise they aren't going to get replaced by some kindly democratic assemblage that models itself on Scandinavia. Maybe they'll get there with democracy eventually and we should support them with this. But kicking the fundamentalist Islam hornet's nest over wasn't smart.

"British blamed for Basra badgers

British forces have denied rumours that they released a plague of ferocious badgers into the Iraqi city of Basra.

Word spread among the populace that UK troops had introduced strange man-eating, bear-like beasts into the area to sow panic.

UK military spokesman Major Mike Shearer said: "We can categorically state that we have not released man-eating badgers into the area."

Blair 'very' worried about state of economy

Sir Tony Blair sat down with Sophy Ridge on Sunday earlier this week, and the former prime minister said he is "very" worried about the state of the economy.

"If you look at the figures, our growth and productivity rates have been very poor over these last years, we're spending more since... probably the 1940s, taxing more and the outcomes are poor," he said.

"It's a very difficult situation. Lots of other countries have similar problems, but I think ours are worse."

Sir Tony said people do realise how bad the situation is, but the question is what politicians will do about it.

"The truth of the matter is it's going to be a very difficult situation for Labour coming in," he added. "That's the challenge.

"Everything is constrained, and therefore the question isn't only what do you do - it's what do you do to offer hope to people.

"Otherwise, people think OK it's grim and maybe we should put the Conservatives out but what is Labour going to do for us."

Sir Tony was then asked what a Labour government looks like if there is no money left.

He said there are four things that could be done immediately to help.

These include reforming the planning system, which he says leaves "absolutely zero possibility" of the UK hitting its climate targets at present.

He also mentioned changes in investment rules, dealing with the Labour shortage problem and "fixing the Brexit relationship".

On the last point, Sir Tony said he would "love it" if Brexit had never happened.

"This country is only going to be ready to re-join when it's strong," he added. "You don't want to go into the European Union on your knees."

The conversation then turned to the controversy around the BBC.

He said he wasn't placed to comment, but said the broadcaster should "stand up for itself".

I refuse to refer to that POS as a 'Sir'.

I wander if he'll acknowledge his governments role in inflating an unsustainable house price and economic bubble? And also for destroying the private sector pensions system?

Taxing More! That is rich coming from you lot.

Who bought in Airport Tax?

Who bought in Insurance Tax?

Who raised Stamp Duty?

Who raised National Insurance?

Who raided the Pensions?

AIRPORT TAX - TORY CHANCELLOR KEN CLARKE IN 1993 budget, @ 2.5%, then raised & raised, now 20%?

INSURANCE POLICY TAX - See above, 1993 budget, again, @ 2.5%, now @ 20%?.

NO WAY do I buy the untruth that Tory governments are competent with finance, they are very good at enriching themselves and their supporters, not at helping the remaining 99%.

I stand corrected they did not introduce it but they did double it.

The world is not black and white. There's always ifs, buts and maybes!

I don't need to speak to any Iraqis. Because I don't give a sh*t about their problems now or then - any more than I can assure you that they gave a sh*t about yours!

Saddam was their problem and entirely within their power to get rid of him IF they wanted to - as has been the case with tyrants throughout history. I can assure you there were plenty of people happy to 'get by' with him there.

You want to solve problems? Charity begins at home!

The only people who, arguably, had any moral responsibility for getting rid of him were the Yanks. They didn't put him in power but they certainly played a part in supporting him - for their own, typically short sighted, purely selfish reasons. And when they did finally get rid of him you can be sure it wasn't because he was being nasty to his own people!

The 'West' would actually be a lot better place today IF we hadn't had to put up with 3+ decades of moralising armchair generals getting us to squander vast amounts of blood and treasure supposedly trying to help people who, more often than you'd think, don't deserve any help.
