Did he have it removed for streamlining purposes? That's a good point. Either it is the photoshop editor getting carried away like the British Museum with Grecian statues or indeed perhaps an Olympic athlete has to give up everything to win - certainly the Japanese pole-vaulter might have done better without a pen1s.
