Not sure if this already posted, but I am posting it anyway.

This newspaper article claims NW is down 2% and that is from a newspaper I grew up believing that anything printed on its pages was true!!!

This can't be true! The NW was that 'special' region that always saw house prices rising. Absolutely no chance of prices ever falling there. The South, sure; but not the NW.

Of course, in time, all things come true.

Ps.

We need to get back that guy who was banned from HPC for constantly ramping of the NW and his shocking attitude to anyone who thought different. Sorry, can't remember his name?

If its in the MEN, its FACT!

Good news though. Very little is selling in my neck of the woods. The local paper was full of EA 'January sales'. I note my neighbours are still punting their 1 bedroomed house on a major A Road for 92k though - how can it not have sold????

But don't worry, FTB's this little doozie is still available for a mere 60k. Form an orderly queue......

Teehee I was just looking on rightmove website, in lonsight and gorton, where prices jumped from 20k - 80k from peek to trough, and found this in one of the descriptions "It is located in a street, not far from the main A6 Stockport Road, where neighbouring houses have sold in excess of this price in recent months...."

Aah Longsight, that leafy suburb. Handy for commuters, though, eh? And no need for central heating, you can keep warm gathering round your burning car. I'd better get on that website.

So, you mean its cheaper than other houses previously sold for in the area....how mysterious...what on earth can that mean????? ;)

the smart money is in salford. it has more culture and so the former home of many artists. musical and visual. and ben kingsley. why i could be down at the alley chatting to morrisey. the duke and stuart hall, while sir jimmy saville jogs past with the pointer sisters in tow. (sir jim would be toting his famous manchester murk hair colour).

"It said the market had been stoked up by first-time buyers seizing the opportunity to get on to the property ladder during the traditionally quiet Christmas period"
