Growing up during the Middlesbrough Satanic abuse trials, comments like: 'The court heard that the trial had originally been due to start last year only to be delayed when prosecutors raised concerns over changes made by social workers to statements taken from the children.' hardly fill me confidence. Some of the evidence has the sound of a horror film about it.

richc
One male victim said: ‘There would be parties and they would do some games where the boys were in one room with the men and the girls were in another with the women. ‘The adults would have a card game and the winner would get to choose a boy to start touching their private parts and then hurt them afterwards.’ This sounds completely fabricated in that it sounds like something a child would say when they were being goaded into saying something incriminating. When I was growing up, the employees of a nearby nursery were convicted of running a satanic-inspired paedophile ring. The children described these really elaborate scenarios, often involving children's games, where they were abused, all of which seemed completely off the wall but the prosecutors believed. Several years later, it turned out that the entire thing was made up from the beginning. Under pressure from the police and social services, the kids just made stuff up because that's what they thought they were supposed to do. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McMartin_preschool_trial

Religous nut social worker feeding a line about Satan etc, kids eventually fed bad a video-nasty inspired Satanic horror film. Whoosh, into care and away from their families for years. The social worker + nutjob paediatrician should have been jailed for life.

Without wanting to be a pedant, the reporting rings alarm bells for sheer inaccuracy A woman CANNOT be found guilty of rape - conspiracy to rape, possibly, but not actual rape One of the elements essential to the crime of rape is a pen!5 - it is probably the ONLY crime that can be perpetrated solely by a male The rest of the article is horrific if true, but when the opening line is "A female rapist" my bullsh!t detector is on full alert and I wonder how much of the rest of the article is sensational hyperbole
