Habeas Domus
This is interesting not so much because of the Snowden leaks, which we all know about already, but for what it reveals about 'The Times' colluding with un-named UK govt. sources to manipulate the news and public opinion. Truly terrible journalism, in fact the very opposite of what journalism is supposed to be. Glenn Greenwald: Last night, the Murdoch-owned Sunday Times published their lead front-page Sunday article, headlined “British Spies Betrayed to Russians and Chinese.” Just as the conventional media narrative was shifting to pro-Snowden sentiment in the wake of a key court ruling and a new surveillance law... https://firstlook.org/theintercept/2015/06/14/sunday-times-report-snowden-files-journalism-worst-also-filled-falsehoods/ So @thesundaytimes has just quietly deleted one of the key lies in its story - just deleted it - with no note https://twitter.com/ggreenwald/status/610116225436360706 Snowden leak journalist reveals lack of proof in car crash interviewhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/06/15/sunday-times-cnn-interview_n_7588000.html

Eddie_George
Even the broadsheets are now migrating to the Daily Mail method of journalism: Make it all up.
Byron
Snowden is just a pathetic attention whore who needs a swift kick in the balls.
Errol
Hopefully more revelations from the Snowden material will be released as time goes by. It's funny watching the governments squirm as people finally see in black and white what they were (are) doing. Snowden did a great service to both the USA and to the world. He is a true patriot. It really wouldn't survive any amount of critical thinking yet it was all over the whole of the mainstream UK media, practically unchallenged despite the whopping holes in logic. And just as Cameron is trying to push his snoopers charter too ... how convenient. I think the most nauseating example was when the BBC News Channel interviewed some professor/senior academic who was a chief adviser on IT/crypto sitting on some security panel or other and he basically tried to claim that the story was solid and credible when it would have been immediately clear to anyone with the slightest knowledge of IT (or ability to think critically) that it was a load of utter tosh. Just naked, barefaced, lying to the camera. It really showed how those in 'the system' who make a lot of money from playing up this rubbish will say anything - and how the mainstream media won't even question it. honkydonkey
These words are very apt in a description of the NSA/US Government. I'd also say "He went against his oath of loyalty" also applies since it's unconstitutional.
Byron
It seems to be a sickness that those not in the know always claim some arcane knowledge. Snowden is a dirty little self aggrandising nut. His supporters are naïve idiots who suppose that the world is managed with honesty, openness and truth. The World is not fair and deceit is everywhere. Snowden just messed up really bad. Idiot

libspero
He fooled you too Yes, it must seem incredible to a man in your position that he has managed to dupe the whole world into thinking the NSA and the five eyes have been performing illegal intercepts for years. It's not like he had evidence, or that such a story could be deemed to be in the public interest. Frankly I'm surprised the media even bothered reporting on it. Odd then that the U.S. And EU are having so much trouble passing laws to justify these past actions. The UK are even having to push emergency legislation in by the back door because they realise how unpopular it is. Still, I expect we'll find out more direct from Snowden as soon as he has finished his next promotional tour and Graham Norton appearance.. prolific self promotor and attention seeker that he is..
