Black Swan Coated With Crude Oil
macbeth79 replied to rollover's topic in House prices and the economy
Or because they were under the impression that oil was running out they invested such a large amount in finding it, too much is coming to market. Premier oil is looking at investing large sums in the Falklands. -
I wonder how the crash in oil price will impact these immigrants

In a curiously upbeat account, The New York Times reports that Islamic militants have joined with Ukraine’s far-right and neo-Nazi battalions to fight ethnic Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine. It appears that no combination of violent extremists is too wretched to celebrate as long as they’re killing Russ-kies. The article by Andrew E. Kramer reports that there are now three Islamic battalions “deployed to the hottest zones,” such as around the port city of Mariupol. One of the battalions is headed by a former Chechen warlord who goes by the name “Muslim,” Kramer wrote, adding: “The Chechen commands the Sheikh Mansur group, named for an 18th-century Chechen resistance figure. It is subordinate to the nationalist Right Sector, a Ukrainian militia. … Right Sector … formed during last year’s street protests in Kiev from a half-dozen fringe Ukrainian nationalist groups like White Hammer and the Trident of Stepan Bandera . “Another, the Azov group, is openly neo-Nazi, using the ‘ Wolf’s Hook’ symbol associated with the [Nazi] SS. Without addressing the issue of the Nazi symbol, the Chechen said he got along well with the nationalists because, like him, they loved their homeland and hated the Russians.” As casually as Kramer acknowledges the key front-line role of neo-Nazis and white supremacists fighting for the U.S.-backed Kiev regime, his article does mark an aberration for the Times and the rest of the mainstream U.S. news media, which usually dismiss any mention of this Nazi taint as “Russian propaganda.” http://www.globalresearch.ca/ukraine-merges-nazis-and-islamists-to-fight-russians/5461295

VIENNA—Iranian officials said Monday that the Islamic Republic’s Central Bank has successfully repatriated 13 tons of gold as part of a package of sanctions relief provided to Iran by U.S. and Western powers. The gold was transferred to Iran by the government of South Africa, which had been holding onto the assets due to harsh sanctions meant to pressure Tehran to rein in its rogue nuclear program. The gold appears to have been released as part of a sanctions relief package that will have awarded Iran nearly $12 billion in unfrozen cash assets by the time negotiations wrap up next week. http://freebeacon.com/national-security/iran-repatriates-13-tons-of-gold-under-sanctions-relief/

Shanghai stocks plunge nearly 7% in morning China's benchmark Shanghai stock index was down nearly seven percent on Wednesday morning as additional government moves failed to shore up the tumbling market, dealers said. The Shanghai Composite Index slumped 6.72 percent, or 250.34 points, to 3,476.78. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, dropped 4.15 percent, or 80.18 points, to 1,852.65. Hong Kong equities also plunged 4.74 percent in the first few minutes of trade Wednesday. The Hang Seng Index dived 1,184.79 points to 23,790.52 in the first few minutes of trade. Hong Kong investors have been buffeted by two crises, with the sell-off in mainland markets coming as Greece edges closer to a eurozone exit after a Sunday referendum rejected creditors' plans to reform its bailout. The falls came despite the Chinese government announcing new measures to support the market, including allowing insurance companies to invest more assets in stocks and a programme to buy the shares of smaller companies. https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/shanghai-stocks-plunge-nearly-7-021031502.html
