Riedquat
This is utter nonsense. He's basically singling out the English lout stereotype. Using the same logic, have you seen some of the scumbags they have down in that part of the world?Alas the English lout stereotype isn't merely prejudice, there's enough of them around. A large proportion of our population are an embarassment. A pity, we'd have a great country if it wasn't full of people who either couldn't care less about it or weren't actively trying to make it a worse place.I don't even know of any Portguese stereotypes to have a prejudice about them, which perhaps says something. Rave
Please don't conflate 'English' with 'British'. It's enough to make me vote 'yes' in the referendum. The Isle of Wight referendum has slipped completely under the radar here!
The Generation Game
He's a physician so presumably just basing this on people he meets in A&E on a weekend. Not very smart for an academic is he? The story says he's a physician but he's actually a physicist.
The Generation Game
I could understand it if he were a physician. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1343184/Pass-sick-bag-The-antics-Imperial-College-medical-students-worry-all.html

dinker
I have noticed that we tend to forego the continental bluster and arm waving, and just move straight to punching once an argument gets 'heated': http://www.spectator.co.uk/columnists/rod-liddle/9315332/sometimes-stereotypes-are-true-and-that-includes-the-ones-about-the-british/
