If you own one house you pay one amount of council tax and one amount of income tax. If you own 2 you pay double council tax on each and double income tax. If you own three you pay treble council tax on each and treble income tax, 4 quadruple, etc.

3 bedroom semi detatched HMO vs buckingham palace.

Go on 'GIFA' per person. biggrin.gif

Get rid of planning permission for residential land use.

Thats it.

Very simple and the root cause of most of the problems that we face for anyone who cares to connect the dots.

An ugly house across the road is a small price to pay relative to the ultimate costs that we will pay for the bursting bubble fuelled by the artificial "shortages" created by the planning system worsened by the simultaneous credit boom.

...bring in protection and more secure tenancy for renters similar to Germany and allow a fair choice between renting first class accommodation and buying as an owner occupier....also regulate landlords in such a way there are no amateur BTLers in the market who should be taxed out of existence to allow professional corporate landlords to run the rental sector in a competitive market...
