gravity always wins
They said they were willing to pay for the services anyway. So why have all the overhead of a police force, prison guards, tax inspectors etc It makes no sense.. In fact, if you really believed the crap you say then the first thing you would advocate is the removal of the tax laws as a pointless cost addition! When I needed the police in the middle of the night some six months ago they tuned up at my request and were able to offer protection to my family and others in my community. Needless to say I was happy to pay. The police weren't an "overhead" they were a blessing.

Mish Mash
Have any of you ever wondered how Injin has managed to accrue nearly 13,000 posts (an average of almost 25 per day)? It's because he gets involved with protracted "debates" with other posters who somehow think that he will acknowledge logic, facts or even reality itself. Take my advice: He won't. You're just wasting your time. Put him on ignore and get on with your lives.

InternationalRockSuperstar
A drunken lunatic with a weapon! why does this require a police force that forced you to pay tax? it doesn't. you could just pay for private security. or shoot the f*cker yourself. gravity always wins
So others would not have helped you?I Know there would be MANY others who would help you for free. My community are happy to make a contribution towards the police to provide that service. Leaving us free to get on with our lives. The community was grateful for the police and their actions. Why is it so hard for the disafected to realise that most are very happy the way things are?
InternationalRockSuperstar
Why is it so hard for the disafected to realise that most are very happy the way things are? many things, but mainly the looming threat of imprisonment. Unexpected
This argument is too black & white. As well as corrupt politicians wages there are many other vast expenses taken out of our income tax, most of which the working public would not agree to pay via their taxes if I'm not very much mistaken. Iraq war Benefits for the career unemployed Luxury in prisons etc etc However, I agree that most of us are happy to pay for education, NHS and police force etc. The rest would remain unpaid if it was voluntary though IMO. gravity always wins
many things, but mainly the looming threat of imprisonment. Do debtors get imprisoned for not paying debts if they have no money? I am aware that refusing to pay when you have the money is a criminal offence. But again how many each years are imprisoned. OH WHY DO I BOTHER ASKING THESE FOR FACTS?
SMAC67
Injun, please stop spooking the sheep, they don't like critical thought, or for that matter any challenging of the "status quo". I had to laugh at the "most people are happy" statement.

InternationalRockSuperstar
Do debtors get imprisoned for not paying debts if they have no money? no, the state only extorts money from those that have some to be stolen in the first place. Lepista
All I would like from Injin would be a description of a typical day in Injinworld, for a typical person living in it. - how do they go about their day to day life? - how do they get the things they need? - what organisation is there? - what would pass as money (in a practical sense) - how would criminals be dealt with? etc. etc.? Secondly I am happy for people to challenege the status quo I would just be happy if any of you lot could actually back up anything you say with any facts. I won't hold my braet tho.
