  1. A very fine analogy Mr Umaguma. Damn machine, always choosing the wrong balls!
  2. That bloke from the other party, whatever its called, is on telly now expounding its solution to the depression - lag yer lofts!
  3. I think he was just being careless... and violating the rules for the carriage of protected documents....
  4. I wonder if being an Assisstant Commisioner is a high enough rank to render you immune to prosecution under the official secrets act? At the very least his security clearance should be revoked. Of course it wont be, because he is ACPO-TAM. If a DC or civvy had fluffed it like this, you can bet they would be in the doo-doo by now.
  5. Indicating yes. But much more important is FOLLOWING DISTANCES! If people maintained reasnonable following distances, even if some idiot didnt indicate, it wouldnt matter because there would be enough space to accomodate the tw@t without jamming on brakes and causing the whole motorway to gridlock. I reckon about 90% of all the tail-backs on our motorways could be done away with if people left enough space for people to change lanes when needed. Closing to within half a car length of the guy in front is not going to get you there any faster!!
  6. Theres 642 politicians to get to before you even start with bankers!
  7. Teach a man to fish etc... What Brown has done is to sell our fishing tackle to buy a fish. No suprise his brother works for EDF. Strange that. Who'da thunkit.
  8. This is what labour has done to this country. It has destroyed our self confidence to such an extent we no longer believe we are capable of doing anything for ourselves anymore. Is the nation of Brunell and Newton, of Watt and Kelvin, of Darwin and Fleming, of Shakespeare and Chaucer now so debauched we cant even order some helicopters and do it right? Or are we the victims of a caball of corrupt, mendacious old socialists on the make?
  9. I guess so... a few billion here and few billion there... after a while it adds up to some real money! PS - Which labour minister is a non-exec director of the company who supplied the not-working piece of kit?
  10. Pff! £1bn! pocket money! The government wastes that much before it gets out of bed each morning.
  11. I only saw half of it... the EA sketch was brilliant... Did anyone else find themselves cheering on the pest control guy when he was trying to swat the EA with a baseball bat and then going "Ooohhhh!" and raising their hands in a gesture of despair when it got away? Or maybe i should get out more?
  12. Welcome to the third world. The presenter seemed quite suprised at the squalid conditions. WTF? They would be considered luxury by a lot of people in Africa. Seriously.
  13. I think you're right. I dont think most people even come close to having any realistic idea about how bad things are and how close we are to not being able to service our debts. Tax will have to go up. I predict top rate up to 50%. Spending will also have to be cut. A lot. Either we do it or the IMF makes us do it!
  14. Its not just that tax is going up. Spending is going to be cut also. Public sector jobs to go and pensions altered. Maybe not now, but sooner or later, this will come to pass. Either to avoid the IMF or on instruction of the IMF.
  15. Higher rate tax is going to be 50%. Get used to it. The moderately well paid are going for a 10% pay cut.
  16. OMG! ALL THEY NOW NEED IS THE REST OF THE EXOCET AND THEY CAN BLOW UP TEH QE!!11!!!!!111ONE 11!!LEVEN!!!
  17. No, because the "Precuationary Principle" is a pile of twaddle use by opponents of x to stop x from ever happening. Shouldnt we invoke the "Precuationary Principle" and ban everything on the off-chance someone might get hurt? Perhaps we should ban electric cars on the "Precuationary Principle"? After all, maybe they cause cancer! Maybe we should ban maglev trains on the "Precuationary Principle"? They might cause something awful to happen! OMG WTF! The "Precuationary Principle" is a pile of old horse shit.
  18. So what. Not much point in wasting 2 hours watching it when I can find out who the stewards decided won the race on monday, tuesday, wednesday, and thursday! 5 GPs for the price of 1!
  19. I never really liked them, they always seemed very over-priced compared to independent hardware stores. Shame there are precious few of them left.
  20. megapix shemgapix. My phone has a 5mp camera. My camera is 8mp but I turn it down to 5 so I can fit enough pics on my 2gd card to last for a week's holiday. 5mp is fine for everyday use, though I take your point about proffesional photogs needing higher resolutions. But to me its more a question of Zoom (0 on mobile 18x on camera) Macrofocus (1cm on camera about 1m on mobile, by the looks of it) Wideangle lens Decent ISO ratings manual control of shutter and iris Good photochip that doesnt "white out" anything shiny etc etc etc
  21. Err.. I get teh internets free on my mobile on contract also... why would any sheeple buy broadband these days? BECAUSE ITS MUCH BETTER YOU BIMBLING NINCOMPOOP!
  22. Indeed. The best way to support the motor industry would be to undo the ludicrous web of taxation designed to price people off the road and into public transport (which is er.. also more expensive). You cant fault Labour's logic here. 1. Tax people off the road 2. Make public transport unaffordable, award operators £100sBillions in tax money 3. Bail out car makers and train/bus operaters with taxpayers money 4. Profit! er....
