  1. Nice story. Are you prepared to say where? And how much you paid? same question please, where? (living mortgage free in a terrace somewhere up north is looking tempting.)
  2. "UK Asset Resolution (UKAR), which is winding down the mortgage books of Northern Rock and Bradford & Bingley, said repossessions rose to 8,847, up 10% on 2010" http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2012/mar/02/ukar-bad-bank-profits-repossessions 10% of mortgagees dont pay on time? I'm shocked! More repos please.
  3. who does fly it? bet she does trust either of her useless grandsons either. didnt WIlliam only do half his training?
  4. Fitch says Greece in technical default, according to Guardian live blog
  5. looks like this escrow account ruse might allow them to kick the can down the road a little longer. unbelievable.
  6. I can't see how the bailout can be signed off now that EU finance ministries have been briefing media outlets that Greece are untrustworthy scoundrels who cant pay their debts. What they gonna say, "only kidding, we predict growth next year"? Too many big cheeses will loose credibility if the bailout happens now.
  7. great strap line. makes me want to move there
  8. what do they during in the day? (press junkets / sightseeing / siesta?)
  9. and you dont get 12 points for one speeding offence afaik. you get banned for being a repeat offender, a recidivist, someone who does not learn from their mistakes. if the DPP thinks there is enough evidence to charge him, I'm happy to convict in an internet kangaroo court. take him down!
  10. it's also good to have someone in the cabinet who has the cojones to stand up to the tories. but go down he must (if it is proved that he done what they said he done, being a pervert, that is)
  11. speeding on a public highway? hope he goes down.
  12. from the posts Ive read on MSE, seems there's people queing up to buy overpriced "brand new, sub-quality, tiny slaveboxes". what normally stops them is the shocking way they are administrated. I cant help thinking they could sell a shed load of 25%-of-a-slavebox-on-a35-year-mortgage deals if the got the RBS team to run the scheme.
  13. "House prices in north east fall below £100,000" here: Guardian Collinson (or the subs) pretty bearish, whilst wanting to reasure the London media class. Come on Pat, let your inner bear out, you are a bear, raaaaaar!
  14. 330 for a 3 bed in the norf? With the stairs in the lounge? Don't think so.
  15. the possibility of HS2 wouldve come up on searches surely, so difficult to have any sympathy with the buyer.
  16. wasn't it on ITV? I hope this isn't some softening up for a further bail-out of these numpty "mortgage prisoners". they also had a 30/40 something physiotherapist bleeting about not being able to afford a mortgage if lending rules were made stricter (more sensible). the segment ended by saying that property prices would suffer from low price rises over the next few years (I suppose negative increase is low) lke that would be a bad thing. what is annoying is how they want to have to both ways: affordable houses AND big price rises!!!! how does that work?
  17. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/feedarticle/10002138 "asking prices should rise by 2% in 2012". if that's most optimistic RM's department of bullshine can be, then things are looking good for a full on crash next year.
  18. Travelex usually are pretty competetive if you order in advance and pay in cash on collection.
  19. I think 2012 will see banks go after BTL spivs aggressivley if there's any hint of arrears. The banks are hungry are looking for crumbs to gobble up. I think your average spiv thnks he's roughly on par with a giant squid banker. They're about to find out they're a lot further down the food chain. Mmmmmm bank food.
