I know it's wrong to have these thoughts, but there's a 1 in 2 million chance that our Prime Minister could have an adverse to the Oxford vaccine. -

The UK is not competent enough to roll out vaccine passports. Pub contact tracing involved people writing whatever they felt like on piece of paper at the door. There is no way we'll have passports. The UK will be safer than Europe this year with all those dirty anti-vaxxers. Staycation all the way. -

Has anyone tried Gwyneth Paltrow's Kimchi Covid remedy? I know quite a few on here like to promote quack cures. NHS saying it's no good, surprisingly. Apparently she also sells a candle that smells like her nunny. If that's your thing. π³ -

0.2% of the entire population of the UK have now died of Covid. Flu IFR is estimated around 0.1% But still we hear the usual suspects making the false equivalence. "Acceptable deaths" etc. /carlbaker/status/1364148161745457152?s=20https://twitter.com/carlbaker/status/1364148161745457152?s=20 -

A clever choice of words, but a meaningless statement. A person's chances of dying once they have Covid are a function of many factors. Plenty of evidence to suggest that risk of contracting Covid are higher for teachers than the general population. As you are well aware, wanting to reduce risk does not mean elimination, just trying to do whatever is practicable to minimise transmission. The honourable member for the Covid Recovery Group on BBCQT last night was trotting out the well rehearsed lines of acceptable deaths and false equivalents with flu that we've heard so often on here. Expect to hear a lot of sympathetic journalists assiting Government messaging that schools are magic places where noone get Covid, in the next few days. -

BBCQT have a Covid Recovery Group nut job on. π Lots of torturing of data going on in the media the last few days around schools. This must be the "PR" push, which is supposed to "reassure parents that schools are safe". Zero discussion of mitigating measures for safely opening schools. Schools have been closed for another 2 month and literally no plan to make them safe. Shameful. -

I floated the idea of a move to Scotland with Mrs TtR today. Not well received, sadly. π
