  1. I love the way Grammar school and Oxford educated Lord Mandy has the brass balls to talk about forcing Uni's to be less selective to aid social mobility in the first breath, and then raising fees (subsequently quashing social mobility) in the next.
  2. This is even more true when "boring" programmes like newsnight spend all of 15 seconds talking about the single biggest banking bailout in the world. They are more than happy to discuss, and be outraged by, Cameron not having (what would be a pointless now our unelected leader has got his way by denying us democracy) referendum on the Lisbon treaty.
  3. Holy mother of Christ. Why is it that probably every person outside of the ruling elite would do things differently by applying common sense?
  4. Actually, and far more worryingly, there are still plenty of people that will vote labour at the next election. I am convinced this is all part of Labours scorched earth policy. I read an article in the standard this evening that quote Brown as saying something along the line of "we will make a profit out of bailing out the banks". That is impossible. The next government who ever they may be will have to suck up a huge taxpayer loss, and look like the criminals thanks to Labours idiotic policies. It is incredible that a government can behave this way.
  5. Haha, thanks for the heads up. I got one of them right though.
  6. Wow... just wow... We are bailing out the retarded banks, and mofos like this. Makes me sick.
  7. Indeed. I saw him talking about it on the Politics show, and under scrutiny about leaving the tax payer out of pocket performed rather poorly to be honest... the party line is, they will be profitable eventually, I want to get the tax payers money back etc. This government have been shocking, as we know now, with the economy and all things financial - so what makes them think they will be able to turn water into wine this time?
  8. Yeah, the good bits are about to sold off, leaving the taxpayer owning the toxic bits. RBS will be no more pretty soon, leaving the taxpayer handsomely out of pocket. Still, at least Fred's retirement will be comfortable.
  9. I agree with you here - in fact they should probably be paid more. I imagine the job, though unskilled, is a pretty hard one frankly, and I certainly wouldn't want to do it. It is so bloody expensive to live in this country, and that is the issue. If you excuse the pun, we need to cut out the waste in the councils/ government by booting out the overpaid exectutives, quangos, etc. and give the bin men what they deserve.
  10. I need to get myself involved in some of this corrupt stuff. If you can't beat them... Either that, or get a job on the inside and become some sort of mole and leak loads of stories to the press (for cash of course, I'll have to be entirely self serving to fit in).
  11. So does this mean good bits will get sold off cheaply, and leave the tax payer to eventually back only the toxic bits. In the meantime, a few people will get stinking rich by being involved in the transactions of the good bits?
  12. I think this already is pretty much a totalitarian state. Every day there is something new in the press that shows the state is taking away even more civil liberties. I mean the PM is unelected, Mandelson isn't even an MP, we haven't had a vote on Europe - and as a consequence warmonger Blair may be a new unelected leader of Europe. There are enough people out there now dependent on Labour to mean that they will still likely get a decent share of votes at the next election. The only "good" thing to have happened which appears to have severely damaged labour is the expenses scandal, since their core vote is turning against them a little.
  13. Or shave... You mean people hedging against inflation by buying stocks? I would have though people may buy physical assets for that... I guess I was thinking, is the "money" going straight into the stock markets to generate nice tidy profits for the banks (hence bonuses)?
  14. I agrre, though I find it pretty sinister to be honest. His preaching of the new labour word, and the work that he has been putting in to do so with ~1000 posts in a month is quite astonishing.
  15. LOL. See my sig. I just added a helpful note, as it drives me crazy.
  16. Seriously dude, if it gets that bad, people are simply going to leave - I am planning my move out at the moment. There are enough smart people (maybe not courageous enough yet though) leaving, to cause a serious depletion in GDP - which would cause an end to this totalitarian state.
