have much sympathy with ya mate. have just had yet another discussion verging on argument with an x who is trying to buy up in sheffield at the moment. he will not entertain renting/the fact that a crash is happening. "rentings dead money", "i just cant see a crash happening", "you've been going on about this since last year and i still don't see any evidence", "government wont let it happen", etc, etc. he came out with all the old chestnuts. whenever i get close to convincing him - it just turns to anger. guess some people take a bit more convincing. get yer missus on here - she can learn for herself. oh and btw - its not just us girlies who are hell bent on owning!!! now back to the spanking - what was i missin out on???

i think i have just gone through a classic "bell curve" of house price crash obsessiveness. a few months ago - at my "peak" i found it difficult to have any conversation without turning it round to some sort of hpc/impending recession/oil depletion type thing. i could quite often be found drawing "you are here" graphs on napkins anyway - out the other side now. have stopped the public ranting. taking one day at a time .....

theres been loads more chat about gold in the main threads lately and not just in the investment bit. just wondering how many people have actually gone and bought some? i've seen a few threads lately about HPC lot all being of the same way of thinking (mostly!), and even though i generally post a load of inane rubbish - have actually become a bit of a HPC disciple (apart from monday when i took off my frugal hpc hat and bought a new bike ) anyways ... just interested if this site has influenced such a purchase??
