IMO this is one of the most thought provoking threads to have appeared on HPC for some time (thanks primarily to UKDS) We are surely witnessing a period of irresponsible and unsustainable support of a debilitated economy, leading to denial of the obvious and a vague hope by the uninitiated that somehow or other the miracle years of 'money from thin air' will resume. As stated elsewhere on this forum, the UK economy is in deep trouble, the GE will not provide a panacea, tough times lie ahead. The awfulness of the property scam that been allowed to blossom in the UK is slowly becoming evident. At some point people will start to question house 'values' and work out that something is only 'worth' what someone is prepared to pay. Further falls in house prices? - 100% guaranteed.
