both of these luminaries predicted a hyperinflationary collapse if i remember correctly? i haven't seen a single wheelbarrow full of cash yet. it seems to me that there's an awful lot LESS money around now than there was a few years ago they may even be proven right, but it hasn't happened yet -
Ireland Going Bankrupt and the Bailout consequences
shedfish replied to gruffydd's topic in House prices and the economy
they're still over 8%, going by the spread over Bunds and today's German 10y price (since none of the articles i can find actually seem to quote a yield figure) incidentally, according to the BBC, a bit sloppy perhaps? -

you could almost set your watch by it... every time noises are made about 'the taxpayer getting a positive return' on the bank bung... something happens and they tank Ireland 10 year has broken the magic 9% this morning. i believe that's not good, if Greece is any kind of precedent -
Things Which Suck About Being A Hpcer

ha, i tell thee... i just had the sh!ttiest, most pointless night out i can remember. you're doing the right thing. i just spent a few quid i saved by not staying out any longer on some meat products high in saturated fat. happy days n+1) STILL being a HPC-er when you bought anyway, KNOWING there would be a fall, and continuing to argue for a fall, in a circle of friends with a vested interest in there not being. most of them have kids and they still don't get it -
i just read the excellent 'Too Big to Fail' by AR Sorkin, and among others this chap will no doubt be circling the corpse. he certainly did rather well out of the crisis, by seemingly representing everyone simultaneously, according to Sorkin's account more jobs for the boys, on the taxpayer tab
