eek
Reading elsewhere on this site I found a link to the https://www.possessionclaim.gov.uk website. So I went to look at the next local court date. Notice anything that the applications have mainly in common? Claim 8PA10230: ACCORD MORTGAGES LIMITED versus Mr David Galloway & Mrs Nikkie Galloway Claim 8PA10398: Northern Rock plc versus Mr Philip Stephen Howard Hope & Mr Philip Stephen Howard Hope Claim 8PA10430: The Royal Bank of Scotland Plc versus Mr Steven Kelsey Brownless Claim 8PA10470: Southern Pacific Mortgage Limited versus Mr George Edward Iveson & Mrs Rosalind Ann Iveson Claim 8PA10525: Northern Rock Plc versus Miss Nadia Humphrey Claim 8PA10604: Northern Rock Plc versus Mr Alan Peter Scaife & Miss Victoria Louise Lack Claim 8PA10644: Southern Pacific Personal Loans Limited versus Mr Duane Charles Lusane Alder Claim 8PA10950: Redstone Mortgages Plc versus Mr Mark Xavier Butler & Mrs Hilda Philomena Butler Claim 8PA11423: Northern Rock Plc versus Mr D J Hornby Claim 8PA11443: Northern Rock Plc versus Mr Andrew James Wade & Mrs Julie Wade And we are still being told that Northern Crock is worth a penny. Personally I used to think the Government was in a hole of at least £5bn. After this discover I think it may be far, far worse.

bobthe~
Claim? Aren't South Pacific one of the sub prime companies that EnRock palmed Sub Prime mortgages off to? It may not be NR, but it is certainly a sub prime company. I think SP Personal Loans are the second charge loan company. Interesting that NR have more than SP, although it is possibly not indicative

OnlyMe
Gordon, Darling and Mervyn and the merry band of idiots are still propping this pig up with taxpayer's money. They made no attempt to stop the fraud continuing. They made no effort to stem losses. They have effectively encouraged Northern Rock to carry on lending at 125%, in fact they have funded it. The Northern Rock managers continue not only collecting their salaries but get ******ing bonuses as well on top. http://www.mortgagestrategy.co.uk/cgi-bin/...h=401&f=402 Borrie says: “Loans are being given that are doomed form the start because the individuals to whom they are given have quite inadequate means to pay them back. "In those most serious cases, would not the power of deterrence be of great value by the wider use of criminal prosecution, which could have a great meaning across the board if some well-publicised cases were brought?†But Davies responded by saying that although it was aware of the dangers in this area, particularly on the sell-and-rent back arrangements, it was tightening up its regulatory regime of these types of products. A spokeswoman for NR says that it has no plans to abolish its Together product. She also disagrees with the comments made by Lord Newby, adding that the product offers 30% as an unsecured loan and it is only 95% that is secured against the property. When I look at the companies involved 99% of the other claims are subprime second charge lenders. So how Northern Crock have such problem customers. Halifax et al don't seem to appear that often. Nicholas Cage
I just browsed through and chose a random court and date. https://www.possessionclaim.gov.uk/pcol/dia...2&year=2008 Claim 8PA06606: Southern Pacific Mortgage Limited versus Mr Allan Lewis & Mrs Gaynor Lewis Claim 8PA06840: Northern Rock Plc versus Mr Jacob Bedgood & Miss Sarah Marie Mills I don't know what type of Credit Cards & loans GE Money offer but they seem to be taking everyone to court. Blister Soul
03/04/2007 Northern Rock launches 'non-conforming' mortgage range http://firstrung.co.uk/articles.asp?pageid...articlekey=4557 Northern rock has launched a range of non-conforming mortgage deals with Lehman Brothers. These products are only available through the broker intermediary sales channel, with applications submitted via the Northern Rock online system... Highlights include: - Fixed and tracker rates from 5.35% - Full range of status and self-cert products across five adverse credit categories. - On-line decisions, KFI's and case tracking. - Dedicated specialist underwriting and processing teams. - Largest business development manager network in UK mortgage market. Anth Mooney, marketing director: "We see this move as a natural extension to our product portfolio - we are open for non-conforming business which is great news for intermediaries and great news for their clients. Our mortgage range is competitively priced, with attractive terms and will be supported by dedicated BDMs, strong underwriting and efficient processing. "Our broker relationships will be further strengthened by this opportunity and it also opens doors to a new group of intermediaries with whom we currently do little business, but can now begin developing a relationship." Northern Rock will bring their mortgage range to market in conjunction with Lehman Brothers. Applications will be sourced and processed by Northern Rock in return for origination fee income, before being passed to SPML, a subsidiary of Lehman Brothers, for completion, ongoing servicing and securitisation. These loans will not be written on Northern Rock's balance sheet, which will remain exclusively for prime mortgage business.

dandare500
I personally think they are over-repossessing to get as much cash back as possible. I have just looked at a few near me and they are by far the biggest claimants. Must be a tactic to raise funds!

Its time to buy
Are you thinking what we're thinking? Lots of people scrambled to get on the property ladder using more more exotic lending criteria, egged on by 1. Estate agents 2. Mortgage Advisors 3. TV and Newspapers 4. A long queue of people who are property millionaires Lots of people getting repossesed as these loans were not sound Lots of people locked out of the property market because 1. They will need to save a deposit, 2. Their deposit will need to be big because they are now discredited. Less bidders competing for houses in light of gloom. Increasing housing stock as speculators with negative cashflow cut their losses by reducing their exposure to property. Houseprices go down as people wait for prices to become reasonable. Now can anyone speed up the passage of time! Edited February 4, 2008 by notanewmember

Personally I used to think the Government was in a hole of at least £5bn. After this discover I think it may be far, far worse. Interesting stuff but should you be using the service for this purpose? From what I can see its only for the use of claimants, solicitors and"organisations" issuing claims (which you might be of course). Don't want you to get into trouble. The government will turn a blind eye to widespread mortgage fraud, but could come down like a ton of bricks if it thinks someone is misusing its service or even a small portion of its data. harris
The taxpayer could be facing a complete disaster as a result of the Government's dithering on Northern Rock as the quality of the loan book is going to deteriorate massively over the next few months. This is because borrowers coming off fixed rates are not being offered competitive renewal rates by Northern Rock meaning that those who can go elsewhere will do so leaving Northen Rock with only those customers who are not wanted by other banks.
