Laura
Starts at 10am http://www.barnardmarcusauctions.co.uk/ Last month they claimed to have sold 64%? - many after the sale. Just a longshot:- Is this why the Express & Mail controllers published the 25% expert hike tripe resutlts, to generate some excitement amongst the bidders & attract a few more? moonriver
Thanks Laura, will watch this one.... wonder if we will see as many "no bids", as we saw on last week's auction ?
moonriver
I've seen lot 134 before at a recent auction. http://www.eigroup.co.uk/auctioneers/templ...=1&l=508705 I assume it must be going back to try again, at a lower reserve. Wonder how many more we have in this auction, doing this ? Guide price this time is £95,000. Last sold was £175,000 in December 2004 !!! http://www.nethouseprices.com/index.php?co...&incode=0UU

Now now Cview, if everyone did that just think of the state we would be in! (pun on an old Will Hutton book quite deliberate) I hope some kind soul will post the results as I wont be around for the 'live' watch. Guest happy?
Lot 114, flat in Hackney (or Islington if you're keen to buy), was on auction a few weeks back. Guide price is £200k.http://www.eigroup.co.uk/auctioneers/templ...rn&l=508685 We're now going through the banks offering properties for a second time. They have now lowered the price and still it won't sell. This will be their defence:- "We offered it once at £200k, we then offered it again at a public auction for £180k Your Honour, it still didn't sell. We placed it with 3 local estate agents for the summer and only one offer and this one couldn't get a mortgage. We were forced to liquidate our loss in October at yet another auction at £130k Your Honour." Expect no sales before summer, and then expect a round of familiar properties being offered at 2/3rds of today's price come the Autumn. Things will look grim by next summer's auctions. Executive Sadman
Wish they would hold these things somewhere accessible (ie the convention centre in birmingham or some travelodge) - afterall it is a national auction with lots all over the place - instead of central bloody London!! Executive Sadman
Theres a largish detached house in one of these upcoming auctions guided at £105k somewhere around Wickford in Essex. Last sold in another auction for £130-140k. Which seemed very cheap to me. I looked for it on live local and it appears to be surrounded by scrapyards, diddicoy encampments etc. Just saying a lot of these 'cheap' lots probably dont seem so cheap if you know the area. Everything will be just fine, and you will definitely be able to leave in time to go to the auction and start bidding on properties to pick yourself up a bargain

Yes i think i know the area and the type of place you say it is. i find the same as you that when you know the area then the property does not seem quite so cheap. moonriver
This auction on to tomorow.http://www.pattinson.co.uk/public/Content/...=129&page=4 just looking at that catalogue for that auction. I notice how they give nethousprice previous sold prices on many, so punters know they will be bagging a "bargain".

bagsos
I bet that one goes for more than 300,000 Actually as its leasehold and the ground rent is currently £31k p.a. and the landlord is seeking to raise it to £76k p.a. I doubt it will sell.....we'll see though
