Labour lost a seat in Salford to the government last night, as the Conservatives held the other seat up for grabs.

In Kersal, Salford, Labour lost the ward to the Conservatives, seeing their vote share drop 21.5 points as the Tories were more stable losing 1.4 points support, according to results reported by Britain Elects. The ward remained Labour during our poor local elections results of 2008.

The ward is, according to the 2011 census, 41 per cent Jewish. Many have feared that Labour has lost credibility in the community as a result of the poor handling of anti-Semitism complaints in the party.

This is worrying. We need a credible and effective opposition to keep the ruling party in check, no matter which one it is.

I think it's the SNP now...

Things will get worse, Corbyn supported the brexit bill unamended then praised the Lords for amending it. Does anyone not think this guy is bonkers?

In a multicultural/multiracial society politics gets carved up along identitarian lines. The largest group rules by its majority power. Society ignores or actively persecutes its minorities. Majority rule becomes undemocratic and sometimes tyrannical.

Have a read of 'Into the Cannibal's Pot' by Ilana Mercer for more details.

Don't worry, the combined forces of the Establishment are trying to keep them in check.

More effective opposition than anything the Commons can muster.

True enough.  <<gets back on board galley and starts rowing>>

Red and Green should never be seen. Basic clothes putting together stuff rules (for womenfolk anyway).

No. he's an old communist. essentially. Hopefully he'll witlessly kill off the twitching corpse of the labour party, before they expire and turn into something even worse for democracy.

Sargon of Arkkad dismantled the pro Corbyn **** wittery rather well here:
