pig
Link? i'm guessing it must be this. Buy your food direct from Farmers: Food Assembly I remember her saying it had taken off in Europe first and from the map it looks like the French are well into it ! Interesting because there is no waste, and you completely cut out the middle-man, i.e. the supermarkets. campervanman
Bl00dy right! Or maybe not: http://ukandeu.ac.uk/what-would-brexit-really-mean-for-the-uks-fishing-industry/ Unless they are blinkered short term gain, long term pain Brexit types. Funn3r
Mr. Cameron continued by telling us "I don't really have any clue what I'm doing policy-wise but I was browsing the internet the other day and I read that Farmers Fear Brexit so I thought I'd give it a try in my speech. Every little helps." http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/West-farmers-lose-Britain-leaves-EU-warns-Cameron/story-29110640-detail/story.html
Steppenpig
Being a bit of an anorak I knew that various trainloads of logs went off to Chirk, looked up what they do with them and it seems to be fibreboard and the like. I nominate you official forum rail transport (freight) and wood pulp and fiberboard industry correspondent. Please keep us informed of developments. Frank Hovis
The number of farmers is tiny here, unlike France for whom the CAP was drawn up, it really doesn't matter what they think. The opinion of supermarket cashiers, for example, is far more important as there are many more of them.
campervanman
Because the UK is so self sufficient in food production it is of course obvious that people selling food in supermarkets are more important than people who produce it. What a joke. Farmers understand that out of the EU the funding they receive will finish up in the hands of the 1% as the UK takes back control of agricultural funding. Pity that so many dumbed down supermarket workers believe the cr@ p from Boris Johnson that the UK EU contribution will fund the NHS. Fund the NHS = Fund yachts for the 1%. Steppenpig
It's weird we haven't been hearing more about the CAP. It used to be the massive thing that everyone hated, but it seems like for the last decade or so, no one really mentions it any more. it is still just about the stupidest thing in the EU. Everybody will get one vote in Brexit; however important you happen to think they are. There are very few farmers so their views don't matter; despite the press attention. There are loads of supermarket cashiers so their views do matter; despite the zero press attention. Supermarket cashiers is merely an arbitrary example of a large yet invisibale group; feel free to use your own.

We import a stupid amount of food . . . sprouts from Holland, runner beans from Namibia, granny smiths from Chile . . . We're not allowed to have an agricultural policy within the EU. XswampyX
An overwhelming number of young farmers say they will vote to leave the EU in the referendum on 23 June, according to an exclusive poll. Farmers Weekly asked members of the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs’ (NFYFC) how they planned on voting at this weekend’s YFC annual convention in Blackpool. Out of the 656 members who voted, 38% (251) said they wanted to stay in but 62% (405) said they would like to leave. Source :- http://www.fwi.co.uk/farmlife/young-farmers-back-brexit.htm In a survey by trade magazine Farmers Weekly, 58 per cent of the 577 farmers asked said they supported a Brexit vote on June 23 while just 31 per cent wanted to remain in the EU. The results appear to show farmers at odds with the National Farmers’ Union (NFU), which earlier this month said it believed the “interests of farmers are best served by continuing membership of the EU”. Lewis Gordon Pugh
Why some posters so keen to post so many times to convince us to stay in this festering shit hole?
RiskArb
Because they are paid for trolls. Incidentally, we've all seen the polls from the right-leaning newspapers showing Brexit with massive support but where are the polls from the left-leaning media showing the opposite. I don't believe the Guardian or Independent run one do they?

Incidentally, we've all seen the polls from the right-leaning newspapers showing Brexit with massive support but where are the polls from the left-leaning media showing the opposite. I don't believe the Guardian or Independent run one do they? It's not a right wing issue everyone should fear and loath the EU. It's just the media portraying it that way so the undecided 'normal' people vote against perceived far right nazi policies. Who is it that supports Britain leaving the EU? "The perception that is carefully cultivated by the mainstream media, including the BBC, the Guardian, and other important newspapers in Britain, is that those who oppose the EU are rightwing nationalists," explained Gordon. "It is a classic example of manipulating the narrative and the terms of the debate." Source :- http://sputniknews.com/europe/20160422/1038412039/eu-uk-lexit-brexit-europe.html "The Lexit campaign consists of the Community Party of Britain, the Socialist Workers Party, and trade unions such as my own," commented Gordon. "We call for Britain to leave the European Union because the EU makes privatization of public services a constitutional requirement which makes it far more rightwing than even NAFTA." The left hate the EU, but love the destruction of our society that it causes. Edited May 8, 2016 by XswampyX
