Renewed Investor
Also, £620 average weekly wage? I scoffed at that figure too. I'd put it closer to £400.
longgone
I scoffed at that figure too. I'd put it closer to £400. maybe they mean pretax 0.08p for petrol =£4.80 to fill your car up for a 60 litre tank today would cost £85 nearly 20% of the average weekly wage my diesel car requires £120 to fill from empty funny how the uk is the most expensive place in the world for diesel i want to move to saudi one day and buy a 6.0 v12 Saudi Arabia: petrol £0.12, diesel £0.05 Edited March 7, 2014 by longgone
John51
The kits I recommended earlier need no added sugar, they use 100% malt extract. The lager kit tastes very much like Bangler that you get in the Indian. Using all malt instead of malt/sugar is better but almost twice the price. Goat, it makes a huge improvement. Not better than a 'from scratch' beer done well but is close and certainly better than a 'from scratch beer' done poorly. All my beer brews have been ok wrt hops. iirc, it is something to do with inverting the sugars, (including the sugars in the malt,) making it easier for the yeast to do its magic. XswampyX
May l am incorrect, but in the early 70's a decent 3 bed semi with big garden in good area was low single digit k. i.e. 4 grand. Now that house is 230k so that's 50x anyones money. I think the basic premise of this article is shite, no? Yep. They went up 50% one year..... what year would that be, lets have a look.... it's here somewhere .... oh yes, here it is... 1973... the year they base this crock of shit on! Would also benefit from consulting a dictionary I feel: "There is no doubt that the value of money has fallen dramatically since 1973," he said. "It is likely to be reduced significantly further over the next 40 years even if inflation is kept firmly under control."
davidg
On a more positive note, the cost of most foods, including milk, apples, bread, butter and carrots has risen more slowly than the average wage. You may need to compare with bio foods to get a more accurate comparison mind.
