Ash4781
This after the call to regulate BTL mortgages, and the Wilsons' articles. Ha my sides are splitting. Desperately trying to unwind their bets.
Rachman
You often do this using their nominated solicitor so you don't get any impartial advice about the terms of the contract. If anything should change here that practice should be banned. tim If you do that, you're an idiot - it's a quarter of a million quid, or whatever, not spending 0.X% of the price on getting oyu backside covered (or at least finding out what risks you are taking) is absolute stupidity. But people do it because they are greedy - all they can see and hear is "kerching". Serously, this is a bad practice - but people do it. You are agreeing that the conveyancer acts for you and for the developer, and that in a conflict of interest, you agree the conveyancer acts in the developer's interests. It's lunacy and if you do it, you get what you deserve.
Mr Punter
Good to see so many people come out on the side of the developer. I kind of feel your love.

Mr Punter
Troll Read the comments. Often site is not supportive of developers, but on this thread, the buyers are bearing the brunt of the blame. Makes a change, and as I am a property developer I commented.

right_freds_dead
i know there is already a topic on this ongoing, but i thought it would be good for potential bulls who may have only just arrived at the site to see so much bad news on one main page. miko
This is happening in many , many new build developments in London and from what we are hearing across the country as well. Speaking to a friend who works in sales office of one of the largest builders today , she said they have a site in Docklands E14 , where £320,000 1 beds bought of plan in 2007 are now being valued for mortgage purposes at £240,000 many , many failures to complete and builder is starting court action. She said builder also had developments in Hackney where this has happened on mass . I asked about Stratford where they have built and built and built and she just laughed and said lets not go there.
