Don't ask for a big pay rise, warns BoE boss
Greater Fool replied to rollover's topic in House prices and the economy
The idiots have done the opposite and are actually increasing taxes on workers by raising NI, total economic illiteracy. Meanwhile the early retired at 55 from the Public Sector DB pensioner types get away scot-free. -
That's ok then, a couple of billion isn't as bad as £40 billion Track n trace, just keep on increasing taxes for the private sector so the public sector can throw billions around like it's confetti. All part of the same problem. Why don't we house everyone who needs it in a hotel, it can only cost a couple of billion more.

National Insurance rise
Greater Fool replied to PeanutButter's topic in House prices and the economy
I've no idea if the trade unions are for or against this NI increase, if it's for more NHS spending I imagine NHS unions could be for it. Edit - just doing a search Serwotka says PCS is against it and the tax increase should come from elsewhere, but can't find anything else. -
National Insurance rise

Not many people want to pay more tax whoever or whatever they vote for. I don't see that Labour wouldn't be doing the same or worse screwing the workers even more to pay for "Our NHS Heroes". -
Are we insane for considering buying now?
Greater Fool replied to Racing Piglet's topic in House prices and the economy
Fantasy stuff. -
So the value of US Ponzi stocks could crash, don't worry, house prices in the UK will still be insane, there is virtually nothing for sale you see. What is worrying is UK pension funds are heavily invested in S&P trackers nowadays, their own stupid fault chasing the easy money, what's wrong with good old UK companies?

USA style Trailer Parks, it's the future, but without the hot weather in the southern states. -
QE is not money printing. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/forget-money-the-bank-of-england-is-printing-a-book-cdbfx9x57 The Bank of England is entering a new market with Can’t We Just Print More Money? a “pop-economics” book illustrated with flying pigs that was devised by its governor, Andrew Bailey. He said that the Bank had decided to produce the educational book because economists and their subject were not well understood. Subtitled “A crash course in economics in 10 bamboozling questions”, the book aims to make the subject more accessible, with chapters taking in the accident-prone nuclear power station in The Simpsons and gold lenders in Babylon 4,000 years ago. There is also a chapter entitled “What became of the 10p Freddo?” relating to the frog-shaped Cadbury chocolate bar that cost 10p in 2002 but is now 25p or 30p

Looks like the Hoff had to lay down backwards to fit into the thing. Let's see how Tesla owners like the cost of replacing their batteries when they get 10 years+ old: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10339169/Owner-blows-Tesla-protest-17-000-cost-replacing-battery-Finland.html -
Conservatives Double The National Debt To 2.32Trillion
Greater Fool replied to fellow's topic in House prices and the economy
I don't know what other directions there are, if social housing isn't being built on a vast scale where are people gong to live "for free" except for very cheap accommodation? This is even before the climate change "refugees" start turning up. -

Not really, as the housing crisis in the UK deepens as time goes on the only option is for US style trailer parks to provide the housing of the last resort. I don't understand why more people aren't talking about this, millions of council houses magically springing up from the earth isn't going to happen.
