  1. This influx of immigrants won't make the slightest bit of difference to London or the rest of the UK. They're getting paid peanuts really (though they tend to work hard) so are they really either going to buy or rent that 250k flat in say Bromley? Not a pretty chance. They live about 6-10 in house crammed in like sardines paying about £60 p/w each. To say they're going to have the slightest impact is laughable I'm afraid.
  2. Over the past month, I've had little choice but to be subjected to the pro-Hezbollah/terrorist bias of BBC, ITV and Channel 4. This one-sided story, pedalled by the broad Left and anti-Semites of whatever colour, rather puts to rest the old myth about Jews controlling the media etc! Only a nation hopelessly infected by the cancer of political correctness, which the UK is, can allow such lies, selective editing and doctored photos to go unchallenged. Thank goodness that the US retains a strong Judeo-Christian culture in its outlook and that its 50 million evangelicals are succeeding in getting the TRUTH out to the wider public. That truth being that Israel is on the front line against Islamic terror and expansionist aspirations and has been ever since its creation. As for the terrorist supporters on this forum? Well, I'm sure they'll fit very well into Eur-Abia - no alcahol, their women in hijabs, public executions for adultery, a return to the dark ages and a theocracy are just some of the delights which await all these spineless Europeans.'Moderate' Muslims? About as moderate as 'moderate' Nazis. I hope and pray that Hezbollah's proxies of terror, Iran and Syria, emerge from the shadows and fight Israel in a 'conventional' war and spare the Lebanese civilians yet more heartache but they're cowards and decide to fight amongst civilians to ensure that front page picture in the Guardian. What scum. Mind you, considering how Arab nations have had their asses whipped in open war with Israel, I guess they figure that this is a better option - and judging by the succur that Western 'liberals' have given them, they're not far wrong.
  3. "It's different this time". Legendary investor Sir John Templeton opined that these were the 4 most dangerous words in investing. I may sound like a broken record, but I'm super confident that the US is headed for recession Q1 next year. The only thing I'm not sure about is whether the UK economy is mirroring that of 1988 or 1990? Any thoughts
  4. I don't think so but perhaps another baby hike in November. Far more interesting is what the FED will do at their next meeting because their economy and housing market has got recession written all over it........ ........but will they prop up the $ and decide to combat inflation? Decisions, decisions
  5. Well done old chap. But if the BOE hadn't have raised rates today, would you have gone ahead and bought at these inflated levels?
  6. Oh yes, America has a one way ticket to recession and we will probably lag by another 6 months, but it'll come for sure. The fall out will be massive, far bigger than the early 90s but I'll be laughing - I don't owe a bean to anyone, run my own recession proof business and will be bottom fishing assets - I hope Look Tuffers, we're going to have a recession but if I gave you a magic wand would you really want the present situation to continue, ie; all these MEW'd scumbags driving about in X5s and generally rubbing people's noses in it that their house has inxcreased in value by x amount? Of course not. Revenge is sweet and I intend to enjoy it to the full!
  7. I thought about winding up my local branch of Foxtons but they all looked so miserable it would've been like kicking a 3 legged puppy. Still, I can't wait for the recession to really bite
  8. Wonder what Roger Bootle thinks now? Yet another miserable prediction from that chump. What about that other twit - Howard Archer?
  9. Sales of plastic shoes, shiny suits and Golfs/Beetles on HP to plummet. There'll be a wailing in the wine bars of Clapham tonight
  10. The first rise of many. Another nail in the coffin of the miracle economy. How will EAs spin this? I'm loving it. YES
  11. Possibly, but are they spending money like they did, say 3 years ago? I don't reckon so. Look at the amount of bags about - plenty of Primark, M&S and Peacocks bags but the mid/upper market fashion market is on its knees
  12. Well, greed abounds among these landlords. I was in Maidstone in January looking at a shop and said to the spotty agent with plastic shoes, "I presume your client is open to offers". Chav agent, "there's been a lot of interest already and the landlord is prepared to wait for the right tenant". Now there are about 20 shops to let and these landlords reckon they can get full asking price AND pick and choose their tenants - unbelievable. Surely they just want to get their monthly cheque or am I wrong? Whatever, the high street has been pretty much dead for 2 years and is in recession.
  13. You may be getting mixed up with someone else as I'm a turf accountant - indeed I know little about high finance/the City. For what it's worth, I reckon that the lenders, be they blue chip or sub-prime, will carry on lending silly amounts for a while yet, even with falling prices. Being a contrarian, I believe when they really put the brakes on BTL borrowing etc &c, that'll be near the bottom of the market. Anyway, all this is ignoring the fact that America has a one way ticket into recession starting Q1 next year and they won't be able to reflate the economy by printing paper, sorry $
  14. In my last post, I should qualify my comments regarding the British sense of humour. This country, for better or for worse, has changed dramatically in the last 20 years and the same goes for our humour. There's no doubt in my mind that the golden age for British comedy was the 1970s when political correctness had yet to take a hold and it was largely written by working class lads as opposed to University educated ones. I'm afraid I find middle class 'humour' deeply unfunny Our dear old American cousins don't get irony, which probably makes them so powerful as they don't have hang-ups about being superior.
  15. I rather like the Germans. Indeed if it hadn't have been for Hitler and his gang of Nazi thugs I reckon Germany would today be a superpower. The thing which cost them was the 'brain drain' to America, mostly Jews. I've always reckoned the English to be near the Germans in terms of character - well they are both Angels and have an overwhelmingly Protestant outlook on business and morals; Protestant work ethic and all that. We differ of course because we have developed a sense of humour which isn't of the 'slapstick' variety, we are self-depracating and have a fondness for small talk, like the weather etc. Regarding German girls - Boy, they are attractive. When I was over there, so many seemed to be radiating health with tanned skin, blonde hair and toned bodies. No ladettes either - Bliss. All in all, Germany offers a good quality of life for the would be emigre' and the abilty to earn good money.
  16. The "ghetto" apartment tag is a good analogy. Around Bromley/Beckenham they've been building apartment boxes on every piece of land going. This is the progression; 1. Land acquired by developers and apartment built 2. Apartments bought off plan and in open market by BTL 'investors' 3. To Let spring up like there's no tomorrow Sad as it it is, I sometimes look in the car parks of these new apartment blocks - empty mostly. I Look at the intercom systems - few occupied. I look at the electoral register - few registered. Ghost developments showing no profits for inestors This whole thing is nothing more than a Ponzi scheme relying on a 'greater fool' syndrome. And it'll eclipse what happened in the early 90s, that's for sure
  17. You know what, I've got a feeling they may just raise the rates before scumbag Gordon's placemen arrive. If nothing else, the MPC have to do something to justify their miserable little existence. As for Roger Bootle - Well if anyone takes that muppet seriously after his string of poor predictions then they deserve to lose a lot of money. The twit has no credibility left whatsoever.
  18. And the great news is RB is that when a crash like this begins, they have a tendency to go on longer than most people think
  19. An uncle of mine has just sold his flat in Mayfair for £6m and is moving into a rented place round the corner. Whilst we were having lunch, two friends of his came over and said they were trying to offload properties sharpish as they wanted to "be in cash". All self made men, all heading for the exit
  20. My prediction exactly. Timings are very difficult indeed though as things inevitably undershoot on the way down just as they do on the way up. But I'll give it a go 2001-early '07 - Asset Inflation 2007 Q1 - America goes into recession 2007 Q3 - UK 'officially' (I think we're in one now!) enters recession 2007 - 2012 - Asset deflation (Property, commodities - yes oil as well) I think a big reflation of the Anglo Saxon economies should happen in about 2015 after all the bubbles and excess liquidity has been drained away. Boom years again in about 2020, deja vu! There are three countries which will be hit especially hard by the coming downturn - US, UK and Australia. Spain, the petro flush Middle East and China won't be too pretty. Germany, France and Japan will escape relatively unscathed because they haven't indulged in the excesses of the past 10 years. Just remember, if I was that clever I'd be sunning myself in Marbella with a Pina Colada but you did want a timeframe!
  21. Really, Sledgehead. What in my posting wasn't accurate? So 7/7, 21/7, 9/11, Madrid, Bali, Beslan etc &c were not committed by Moslems? Ok old chap, I get you Can't be that much of a "racist" if I hold Hindus, Sikhs and Orientals in such high regard, can I? Oh BTW, I see that a majority of Hindus don't wished to be called Asians anymore in case they are confused with Moslems - no doubt they're "racist" according to you?
  22. Never mind about the "c" word, how about the R word - RECESSION. Because that's where America is headed by the end of Q1 2007 Oh, and they won't be able to get out of this one like they did the last one in 2001.
  23. As for terrorist exports, I recall, 9/11 was committed by Saudis and 7/7 by UK nationals. Many consider the attack of Iraq by the US to be an act of terror, so in that case, the US terror export bill dwarfs pakistan's total export figure. "7/7 by UK nationals". Really, well considering I, and many others, don't regard Moslems as remotely "UK nationals" that's debatable. The notion of waving the degraded UK Passport and claiming to be as British as those of Judeo-Christian origin is ludicrous. That said, I have nothing but praise for Hindus and Sikhs who have contributed a great deal to this nation and are preferable to much of the white trash around. Oh, and one can add the Orientals to the latter group. I thought most of the London 7/7 and 21/7 terrorists were either of Pakistani origin or black converts; am I wrong?
