UN 'deeply concerned' over safety of 400,000 civilians fleeing US-led coalition airstrikes in Raqqa

The safety of over 400,000 people in Raqqa, Syria, where US-backed Syrian opposition forces are bombing ISIS, is of "deep concern" to the UN. The offensive has resulted in "an escalating number of civilian deaths” as well as damage to vital civilian infrastructure, the organization added.

No idea whether this is accurate as it comes from FARS (Iranian news agency). If true, this is presumably to counter any American buildup on the ground. Syria will then be effectively partitioned, with the Legitimate Government on one side, with the lawfully present forces of Iran/Russian assisting them, and the Americans/West with their 'moderate' rebels/terrorists on the other.

In fact the investigation was blocked because there is already an investigation by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) into the incident, which has already stated there was incontrovertible evidence that Sarin gas was used in the attack.

Around 30 fire engines and ambulances, as well as 70 local residents with children transported from a refugee camp were used in the filming of the Al Jazeera clip across three locations in Idlib province, including Jisr Shughur.

This filming was said to have been ordered from a European country.

With numerous distractions unfolding on the newly released reality TV show that is “Keeping Up with the Trump Administration,” it may surprise readers to learn that the U.S. is using the terror group ISIS as a pawn in its depraved foreign policy.

Video footage obtained by Al-Masdar appears to show convoys of ISIS fighters fleeing the Syrian city of Raqqa untouched by the U.S. military, which is currently bombing that exact location. As Al-Masdar notes, despite having Kurdish and American drones hovering around the city of Raqqa, U.S. bombs are nowhere to be seen as hundreds of fighters pass safely. Syria’s elite Tiger forces are now less than 3 kilometres from the city gates. With Russian Aerospace Forces consistently and successfully clearing the path for the Syrian Arab Army, the defeat of ISIS on the battle field is now a matter of when and not if and more specially, such a thing could be achieved before the end of September of this year.

The UN Syria Commission released a report saying it is “gravely concerned” about the impact of international airstrikes in the war-torn country, adding that US-led forces failed to take proper precautions to protect civilians during an attack in Aleppo.

Saudi Arabia to host Syria opposition meeting as UN prepares new peace talks

Saudi Arabia is to host a meeting of the Syrian opposition later this month as the UN prepares to convene new peace talks with the government, AFP reported. The meeting will take place in Riyadh from November 22 to 24. It is being convened at the request of opposition factions and will aim to form a “joint negotiating delegation to resume direct negotiations in Geneva under the auspices of the UN,” according to a Saudi Press Agency report. The latest round of UN-brokered peace talks is due to open on November 28, and UN envoy Staffan de Mistura said late last month that the talks had reached a “moment of truth.”

Things are drawing to a close now, thanks largely to Russia. Next will come elections where Assad will hopefully stand and win. Above all else, the Syrian people should decide if Assad stays or goes - not the US or anyone else. I'm sure the UN will be able to monitor the elections, although I think the US are just not keen on the probable result (Assad has always had majority support and will win).
