RichM
Realistically you probably won't like this site as half of us seem to full-on right wingers. Still, we have the odd interesting thing to say about property. And we're not all that pessimistic - I am quietly confident that England are going to win the World cup. Right wing Nu-Labour or right wing tory. It's all confusing when they both have no good ideas, and are governed by the international banks. BandWagon
Someone should warn new viewers that this site can get rather weird in the early hours, particularly on the weekends. I suspect alcohol could be the culprit.

Guest muttley
Cleaely I've missed something - why Guardian Readers??? There was an article in the Guardian that mentioned housepricecrash.co.uk http://www.housepricecrash.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=32406 They say we are a bunch of pessimists. I say it's only going to get worse.
redwing
Realistically you probably won't like this site as half of us seem to full-on right wingers. The site is absolutely fine. It's just that about half of the posters on the forum are complete w*****rs. And, of all the mainstream press I'd say The Guardian has least VI spin - just one dps of property porn on a Saturday. Guest Cletus VanDamme
The real pessimists are hanging out on GEI, where they have stopped worrying about house prices, and are getting on with their lives- whether owning a property or not. AUGUST could be the cruelist month this year- putting paid to the optimistic dreams of property owners and shareholders. Cash will be king before the summer is out, I reckon Hope you're right Bubb 'cos I'm pretty much all cash at the mo'.

The socialists and lib dems, right? I don't buy newspapers so I have no idea which ones are the worst VIs - don't they all have property supplements? redwing
The socialists and lib dems, right? I don't buy newspapers so I have no idea which ones are the worst VIs - don't they all have property supplements? Wrong. The Guardian doesn't have a property supplement, just the two pages tucked away at the back of the Weekend Section, and it frequently comes in for criticism on the letters page. If you check out the News Blog, you'll find quite a number of Guardian articles posted there. So, Guardian readers are quite active on here. What does surprise me is that right-wingers would want to see a HPC. I'd have thought all you petit-bourgeois little Englanders only ever wanted your houses to up in price. RichM
hard day at the office + 8 cans & a bottle of asti = "Blind Optimism" No, just a cool, calculated intelletual, making his prophecy available to the general public. It's a cert. We've got the players, the passion, the skill, the dogged fighting spirit, the manager, and the crowd. We cannot lose. The opposition would be mugs for evening turning up. Wrong. Thank you muttley, I am a 26 year-old with no family money behind me. I have 2K in a savings account. That's it. Oh, and my signed copy of "Tornado Down". You see, the right is all about opportunity and productivity, so I am naturally for a crash. The left like holding people back and enslaving them to the state, so high house prices are a useful cash cow. Don't worry, I love you cuddly lefties with all your nice intentions. When you grow up and get real jobs, try to start families, and try find somewhere decent for your families to live with low crime you'll probably start reading a proper paper with right of centre views. But enjoy your naievety while it lasts!

RichM
No money, just emotion. What a balls-up. I've tried to give Sven the benefit of the doubt, but you have to wonder what he did to squander such a good set of players. They never really looked like playing as a team. Hang on to your naive views as long as you can I say - it keeps you in touch with the young and sustains you with the optimism and hope that people will one day stop being such selfish fools chasing materialistic gains and developing superior feelings over their fellow man. People who have families know more than single, right wing Londoners just how much communities matter.

I think the Americans would do well to remember that even Wall Street Traders needed help from those socially minded individuals who were running the soup kitchens in 1930. Sorry, why would the socially-minded people be socialists? They might well have been (more sensible) capitalists. In fact, they probably were. The socialists would be too busy organising their next demo/strike.

The socialists would be too busy organising their next demo/strike. I didn't say they were socialists - just that they were socially minded. They clearly cared for the people affected by the financial devastation they saw around them. How about the people who man the homeless centres and run the drug rehab programmes in our big cities these days - would you care to take bets on their economic philosophy?
