I suspect they wouldn't be able to hack it. No sh1t. Max 21°C, Min -51°C. No Brit is prepared for that. I spent decades in Canada and never could handle the -30°C weather in Toronto. You need probably need 5-6 cords of wood, seasoned 1-2 years in advance of the winter you're in. About this times 1.5... Or a shit ton of heating oil... if you can get it trucked in.
