jackpot06
I'm quite sure, quite a lot of HPC'ers live here in Poole and Bournemouth, I've been renting for 5 years now and I'm heartily fed up with it and would like to buy. Can anyone assist me with any hints, tips or links to agents or auctions locally I could approach to find out about repos?
The Masked Tulip
You need an angle - give yourself a pouncy double-barrelled surname and reinvent yourself as an organic farmer, chef or become a bw anker.

juvenal
I'm quite sure, quite a lot of HPC'ers live here in Poole and Bournemouth, I've been renting for 5 years now and I'm heartily fed up with it and would like to buy. Can anyone assist me with any hints, tips or links to agents or auctions locally I could approach to find out about repos? I live in Dorset and have never seen a local auction of repos. I have seen local repos appear in sales held in London by the major property auction houses. There seems almost to be a rule that repos don't get advertised and sold in the area they are in. A pair of flats were sold near me recently - in a sale 30 miles away. I doubt they were even advertised here. Look carefully at Rightmove photos of interiors, esp bathrooms. Yellow tape over utilities usually indicates a repo, as does 'by order of the mortgagee' in the EA description. If interested, contact the EA. What would be even better is if they converted some of those lovely old victorian buildings back in to family homes again - a man can dream ...
