  1. Even if you're an OO you come into contact with parasite crabs scumbags benevolent providers of accommodation when your kids start to leave home. You should see the state of some student lets. At least I didn't have to worry that my kids were going to mess it up.
  2. Wow he really unloaded on LLs didn't he. From the tone of the article it didn't sound like a journalistic investigation, more like a rant from someone who has been personally fecked over by parasite crabs scumbags benevolent providers of accomodation.
  3. My idea is an exorcism business for haunted houses, and cars. Franchisees (or as we call them "Demon Killers") receive training, pentagrams, wooden stakes, all that. Health and safety though; the individual risks infiltration of their akashic shield if they do too many in a particular period of time therefore it's unwise to perform exorcisms for more than 16 hours a week. I think this would really fly.
  4. I'm surprised at the way almost all of my social circle doesn't agree with us attacking Syria. There are one or two who are always up for giving johnny foreigner a black eye but everyone else sees their tax money pointlessly being wasted at a time when they personally are suffering financially from something or other. It's my guess that the Russians must genuinely (as they claim) now have proof that the chemical weapons thing was faked. It would have been too humiliating if the retaliation attack had just been called off so instead they have blown up a few bits of desert then made a big fuss about it. Just my guess and don't pretend to have insider knowledge.
  5. Friends of a friend are a young couple just bought near asking. Such a shame as the house needs so much work and just screamed out for a low offer. Somehow when it's mortgage money it seems to matter less. "Only another 10k" seems like a technicality until you think just how long does it take even to save 10k, even worse pay back 10k+interest.
  6. If you were not too poor for the second then you would also not be too ugly for the first, trust me on this
  7. People on HPC routinely post all sorts of discriminatory stuff which if done same in their workplace would find them with HR in a disciplinary before you could say "Equality Act 2010". The one I dislike most (being in the target group) is "boomers".
  8. I always say something like "so you wouldn't mind if there was only a little urine in your soup then?" Munich is one of the places where I go for a 2-day business trip and literally eat nothing. Bavarian law makes it compulsory to eat pieces of dead animals and they put them in everything no matter how innocuous-looking. After they caught me with the old "potato dumpling" trick I learnt to take a bag of nuts and some chocolate with me. Great for losing a few pounds though.
  9. This appeared as a "deal" on HUKD and they had to take it offline because of the storm of abuse . Back on now with stern warning to keep it clean. I just posted satirical praise of the scheme but they saw through it and censored me within about two minutes.
  10. You always have to be very careful to define "demand". Demand does not mean everyone who wants to buy a house, there is a plentiful supply of those. Demand means those who want AND have the ability to buy, and that's what is shrinking and shrinking despite cheap credit.
  11. I swore off this site once after a particularly nasty torrent of personal insults in the Brexit thread. Feel better when cool off though; come back Fence, if you're listening.
  12. Max possible freebie is 1200 pounds and you can only do it once per lifetime. So hardly a get rich quick scheme but still annoying thatI will be paying out the 1200's but don't qualify for the freebie. It's sort of targetted helicopter money.
  13. When I was a kid "Batman" was on TV and there was an episode which everyone was talking about where Batman ran for mayor of Gotham City. A few weeks later there was a local election and the result was exactly the same number of votes for each of the major candidates. Someone had spoilt their paper by voting for Batman and there was much hilarity about how that crucial vote could have won it for somebody.
  14. I have given up on both Tory and Labour. Will vote for anyone who says "no more red v. blue posturing, no more of the same old crap". I would have voted for Trump (even though he's theoretically Tory isn't he?) if I lived in USA. Corbyn is my only UK option despite Byron's list of why not. To the Corbyn-haters, I am open to your alternative suggestions, although can't/don't want to waste my vote on a no-chance party such as UKIP. The fact that we're even having this conversation shows how bad things have got.
  15. I would think just about any business could succeed at present if it had no debt, and the costs were minimal appealed to folk who were not that well off or at least were watching the pennies somehow different from nominally similar businesses When I was a kid there were loads of what we called "hippy shops" selling joss sticks and so on. The best ones had a cafe attached where you could sit all afternoon with a tea and a bowl of lentil nibbles. The decor was "rejuvenated sally army furniture" and stripped pine. Only problem these days would be business rates
  16. It's hard to know what's what and who to trust. If everyone is like me then the whole world must be just getting desperate inside watching the world get worse every day but not a thing I can do about it.
  17. Yes you're right it actually even says "VAT Free", I must have been mistaken. Never bought PM before but I'm very tempted.
  18. Cannot disagree with that one. It really sticks in my mind the first time I saw Blair on a children's program during late afternoon. I was with my wife and we both simultaneously said the same thing, that he looked like a breath of fresh air in comparison to the politicians of the time.
  19. Can't read that because of my adblocker. For libel to succeed it has to be a provably false allegation and it is not false, as I just said. It's intentionally misleading though, just like "Nothing acts faster than Anadin" is 100% true but designed in the hope that the reader will jump to a conclusion that Anadin is the best. Some folks on this site have missed a great career in advertising. Moving on from that, supposing it were true in the sense that you would like i.e. that he participated in a silence purely for IRA people. Would he be the first great leader to show respect for the dead even though they were the enemy?
  20. I looked at bullionbypost, coininvest, atkinsonsbullion, and they all want me to pay VAT. I know we have talked about VATless silver in the past - is there somewhere special I should get it from?
