  1. i have read what you said, so it must be that i didn,t understand it. you said debt was not needed as you said farmer A could wait to trade his potatoes grown in say feb with farmer b,s corn grown in sept on a take it or leave it basis, and that seems to presume farmer A has the equipment/power needed to keep his goods fresh until farmer b,s corn is ready. If this equipment is not available or there is no power sureley he has to agree to trust farmer b to keep his side of the barter in the future ie debt. i,m dont see how barter without debt will work for perishable goods produced at different times, please explain it to me.
  2. If we arrive to return to the barter system as we may, i,m going to presume that we are post peak oil with all its implications, and that the availability of things like refridgerators and the power to run them, to extend the life of perishables like seasonal crops will not allow the option of agreeing to barter later on when farmer B has his corn to trade as your potatoes will not be edible. I,m assuming that perishables like food will be very popular bartering items in this future. So will debt not be needed to make it "work".
  3. again i,m confused, you say nothing has happened and that debt is a specific thing with implications for loss. farmer A has given a bag of potatoes to farmer B, he has not recieved his sack of corn from farmer B only a promise that he will do so in september when the corn is in season. how is this not a debt ? as farmer A has risked losing a sack of potatoes for the promise of payment of a sack of corn months from the date of barter areement , how has "nothing happened" ?
  4. Are you crazy?? you can only solve a debt crisis with more debt, we need more stimulus and a bigger state and more quangos to manage the recovery, we cannot cut any public spending or public sector jobs as this will damage the recovery, also the recovery must be managed so that its totally painless to all but the taxpayer, this last part is most important
  5. Deal is dependant on BA fixing the huge hole in its pension pot or iberia can walk away, qiute how they are going to achieve this while posting losses in the hundreds of million i dont know but then again maybe they can talk merv into loaning them the keys to the printing room in threadneedle street, fixed
  6. In my opinion hpc/hpi has become an irrelevant side issue at best. The uk faces enourmous problems going forward, the banking/finance sector will lose its world leading status now it has been revealed for the casino economics that it is. UK infrastructure is a joke our road and transport systems are expensive inneficient and inadequate. The uk is facing an energy crisis within the next decade due to lack of planning and investment. North sea oil/gas has been in decline for 4 years and all the cash has been pissed up the wall. It is difficult to see what is going to be the driving force behind any recovery, with the levels of debt we have as a nation will not allow a consumption based recovery and our costs are too high to allow us to be competetive internationally. government running up debt defecits of circa 200 billion/year until 2014/2015 earliest. benefits crisis. unemployment crisis (you dont really believe 2.6 million , DO YOU?) pensions crisis. The fact is i don,t care about hpi/hpc anymore WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO BUY A HOUSE, ITS IMMOBILE,ILLIQUID AND A SITTING DUCK FOR A RAFT OF NEW TAXATION MEASURES THAT WILL BE INTRODUCED,and thats aside from the fact that its LOCATED in a country heading for BANANA REPUBLIC STATUS oh erm but without the BANANAS and erm SUN
  7. likes of me ...... explain please, what do you know about me? sound like a loser... i have posted nothing about myself on this thread ,this thread is about you and your poor sick wife. why do i come on here? I come on here to educate myself about economic, legal and political matters, subjects that i have taken too little interest in until relatively recently not to lsten to whiney tossers like yourself gadget boy
  8. Because people like you coming on here looking for sympathy/advise when you don,t have any REAL problems make me SICK! Simples
  9. yes but the uk is the one of the best places in the world for professional gamblers
  10. No apparently the situation is more complex , we must pity the poor stressed lady with no home to call her own i,m sure the rented accomodation is really shabby. jeeez sounds like an ideal candidate for the next saw film.
  11. Billions of people on this planet face a daily struggle just to survive , some have to walk miles everyday just to get fresh water, others have to do backbreaking work for upto 14 hours a day for subsitence wages to support children. Some of the poorest people i have met are very happy and would share thier last meal with you. Closer to home many people with young families are losing thier jobs , homes ,many others exist on poor incomes and will never be able to buy a home of thier own. People have children with downs sydrome , cerebal palsy etc etc these conditions are for life they face challenges everyday. Some women cannot have children of thier own. Your wife has a husband she apparently loves, two children and 500k in the bank, the only cloud on the horizon of her privelidged life is that she is living in rented property at the moment, this blights her life so much that she becomes clinically depressed and needs to poison herself with antidepressants just to function. She must truly be a spoiled brat who needs every aspect of her life to be perfect, she is in a very privelidged position and obviously has no empathy for the plight of others who are less fortunate, she needs to change her perspective on life. You will probably buy a 600k house and she may even ditch the happy pills for a while, then the house will fall to £300k over the next 5 years and she will become "depressed" again. Every setback in life ,things like cannot get a place in her preffered school for her little darlings will become huge issues leading to more depressive episodes. Your wife has bigger problems than not owning a house, she will never be content FACT, she is the kind of person who gets upset by the builders leaving a bit of dust while having a fabulous £100k extension built, people like this always focus on the negative in thier lives. Good luck finding contentment with this person ,you gonna need it
  12. Acyually yes i do have some thoughts, you should get rid of the wife, she is a fuukking moronic spoilt little cuunnt, she will never be happy and niether will you while you are still with her. I do not say this in jest, she has big personality disorder problems.
  13. Then you don,t undesrtand very much , its debt default and theft
  14. Yes the true value of fiat currency is becoming clearer to everyone, well at least you would think so, but a good friend of mine who is a corgi gas engineer and earns circa 45k recently asked me why poorer countries didn,t just print more money to pay for "stuff" that they need he was completeley serious and i think people like these can be easily fooled with jargon such as "qauntative easing". Trying to explain how its actually state sponsored theft was futile, i actually saw his eyes glaze over so it was back to talking aboout footy and slappers etc. Its like taking candy from a baby, i,m sure all productive people will be told they need to accept pay cuts / freezes and worse employment conditions to "do thier bit" to help us out of this depression that was mainly caused by casino economics, corruption and theft while all they wanted was a home and enough to get by, and guess what they will swallow it. The banksta,s must be laughing thier c0cks off.
  15. tough choice, no easy options sterling as a currency will get trashed so i suggest that you invest in something tangible. gold boat missed housing will either stagnate for a long period or crash and is easy target for taxes. how about farmland and a caravan? or maybe invest in norwegian krona, if you have transferable skills i would suggest getting out of dodge while sterling is still worth something and while you still can.
  16. In europe it would have to be italy, some very beutifull places the northern lakes are stunning especially garda beats como hands down, the dolomites in the winter are breathtakingly beutifull great for boarding or skiing, then theres thge amalfi coast and sardegna and for a trip back in time sicily. They have family values we can only dream of in the uk and food and wine to die for, on the negative side salaries are quite low and there is rampant nepotism however the benefits outweigh the negatives imo. Outside of europe maybe , brazil or columbia i also liked miami alot but am not keen on americans, but not such a problem as it has a large latin population. Uk is finished , i,m going to leave next year and i won,t look back.
  17. I know that line very well. up till feb of this year i had an apt in lake garda and frequently had to travel to treviso to see my son, as the ex was a bit unpredictable i would never pre book it cost me less 7.80 euros for walk on cattle class for a 129km journey, and 1.50 euros for the bus from my apt to the nearest station (5kms) and a euro for the bus from treviso station to the suburbs total cost one way 10.30 euros. Here in the uk the same journey would cost at least 4 times as much probably more. Are salaries here 4 times higher than italy? i don,t think so.
  18. as you only need an internet connect to make a living i can definatley reccomend italy , the area around verona including lake garda is stunning, they have family values we can only dream of here , i,m moving back there next year.
  19. why would anyone pay for a tv licence? if it can be licenced it must therefore be legal. google FREEDOM IS MORE THAN A SEVEN LETTER WORD by veronica chapman. big sanings to be made
  20. Top post ! i agree 100 % especially the "only when you are unhappy do you seek the approval of others" bit, i have to say that is one of the best quotes i have read ever. I was married to an italian, and all she ever wanted to do was F-ukk , now i,m not against a bit of rumpy but she complained that i was not able to perform the 5 times a night her ex was used to providing (1-2 times aweek not in a marrige situation) i was thinking 3-5 times a week, this made me boring apparently, i was into snowboarding, mountainbiking, travelling all over italy and going to the gym, reading and watching films, as far as i could tell all she wanted to do was f-ukk and be told how beutifull she was (she was) but give me a break how about a bit of life balance here? if i,m happy what do i care if others think i,m boring? brilliant! I now realise that when you are a bit older and a woman says that your boring, she is just pissed off that she can no longer control you with sex as you are not that bothered anymore (unless its a younger bit of strange) .
  21. what makes you think tax benefits will exist in the "pay for the bailout " future?
  22. So by your "What goes around comes around" comment are we to presume that you have made a serious amount of profit from the financial rape of the next generation so you are prepared to accept a bit of tax to ease your guilt? are you a banksta?
  23. We have seen that the government does not run the country, it only implements policy for it,s masters the plutocracy, the further £33.5 billion bailout of RBS shows this beyond doubt. The state is simply intent on the privatisation of profits and socialisation of losses and what you and i think or do is simply not relevant. But they need us to pay for this and what are the easiest targets? 1.) homeowners, property is fixed and can be subjected to all kinds of new taxes as they know most people will pay rather than lose thier biggest "asset". 2.) employment, if you have the type of job that does not readily allow you to sell your skills in the black economy you will have little choice but to accept tax increases. 3.) motorists, as always an easy target, expect a host of new "environmental" taxes and road tolls or charges via gps tracking etc. are you prepared to accept this? if not what are you going to do about it?
