  1. I wholeheartedly agree. The fact that Darling stated at the weekend that Merv and Brown didn't think the total economic collapse of 2007/2008 was that serious and it would all sort itself out, just shows what idiots are have governing us.
  2. From the local rag's website: "30 posts set to go at steel plant" http://www.northantset.co.uk/news/business/jobs/30_posts_set_to_go_at_steel_plant_1_3041318 "Hundreds of staff at council keep jobs" http://www.northantset.co.uk/news/local/corby/hundreds_of_staff_at_council_keep_jobs_1_3041327 It seems the wrong way around to me. I fear the cuts are a joke and the IMF are booking their flight tickets as I type.
  3. I vaguely remember seeing a graph in one of the papers in 2007 showing how much property was going to cost when it kept doubling every 7 years...looked like a great investment then.....
  4. I've considered this matter carefully, weighing up the various facts and information and I conclude that...America is ****ed 10-15 years. Big war. Only possible outcome.
  5. Short lived hapiness...now says sold 80% !!! And, looking at what was sold and at what prices....jees, I give up, who is buying that rubbish.
  6. Short lived hapiness...now says sold 80%
  7. http://www.auctionhouse.uk.net/Auction-results.aspx?AuctioneerID=40 Thursday, 17 March 2011 7 100% £1,712,500 then Thursday, 26 May 2011 6 50% £532,500 I was hoping for a 25% this time but I was way wrong: Wednesday, 7 September 2011 10 0% £0 I'm hoping that's the official result and it's not updated later.
  8. Remember my prediction for richard greener auction...the last two sales were: Thursday, 26 May 2011 6 50% £532,500 Thursday, 17 March 2011 7 100% £1,712,500 I think I predicted this time they might get 25%, well I was wrong !!!!! I was way out: http://www.auctionhouse.uk.net/Auction-results.aspx?AuctioneerID=40 Wednesday, 7 September 2011 10 0% £0 Hopefully they wont update that. That's made my day....week...summer.
  9. Well, thankfully no one paid £1.7M, which would have upped the nationwide HPI no doubt
  10. Try "Talking about this is the massive rip-off Charities are becoming". The people running the big charities are getting paid £150K+++ ...not very charitable if you ask me. They are running the charity like big businesses. The adverts they now make/show for charities disgust me. They basically set out to make the viewer feel guilty so they donate ( and set up a £2 per month ( or whatever ) ad infinitum donation ). Half they money they then raise go into more advertising. This is not how I expect a charity to operate.
  11. From zoopla...the average sold price for that road is: Roman Road Zed-Index £1,039,681 That includes years of over-priced sales though

  13. A better title would be "Bank heist: Bankers steal £40 Billion from savers pockets".
  14. I meant to say...I bet the E.A. would magic up a better mystery offer from somewhere !!!!! I'd ask for it all in writing. Well played. P.S. Will be interesting to see how Richard Greeners auction went: http://www.auctionhouse.uk.net/Auction-results.aspx?AuctioneerID=40 did anyone go ? I'df laugh if the number of sales drops to 1 ( or better 0 ).
  15. I concur...that is ball-ocks. The OP should ask for a rent descrease, say it's because you no longer have the security of an asurred tenancy Worst cash you will get no increase.
  16. Hi Exiges, sounds like exactly what I would do.I might even have played hard ball and just done the one offer. Out of curiosity private message me if you can and let me know what % below asking you put in. It's refreshing that the agent is happy to put your offer in, a real sea-change the 2nd half of the year by the looks of it. I'm sure the vendor doesn't want to make a loss on a house, but as you point out prices have dropped since 2006, we are back at 2004 prices. Better they take a loss than you do :-)
  17. That's hilarious, if you dont mind moving then: 1) You should negotiate the rent down, all things are negotiable. 2) Move onto a periodic tenancy, they have to give you 2 months notice to move, you have to give them 1....it's a good deal if you think you might move soon-ish.
  18. I've seen one house in Northampton up for sale at £700K....rental....£1400 !!!!!!!!!!! You'd need to be mad to buy it. You also get plenty stuf like this: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/property-34026350.html asking price for that would be £400K. No point in buying it at that price, in fact if I'd seen that up for rent at that price I might have moved
