Although this will likely invoke kneejerk disbelief in many on HPC, what used to be 'conspiracy theory' is now being shown as fact on a YouTube channel with 3.3 million subscribers. My sense of duty has overcome my reluctance to bother to inform the wilfully blind.

My understanding is that the extra £175,000 per person IHT exemption applies only if the "family" house of the deceased is left to a direct lineal descendant, e.g. a child or grandchild. Hence it is not relevant in this case.
