Kookai, MVC and Unwins were all small groups average number of employees messured in the 100's not thousands. We either need a lot of these to go broke and or for the majors, like Next, to start closing stores before things can be said to be really bad.

But it is a good start and there are like to be a few more in the next few weeks as it dawns on directors that Xmas was not the rescue package they hoped for. Could be a lot of bad news coming.

Sorry to be negative, but I think Kookai had a franchise dispute and the underlying trading is ok to fine.

However they are small beer as someone said.

The real potatoes is how outfits like M&S and BHS and Sainsburys do over the next few months. They won't go under, but if they are forced to cut employment and find cheaper goods to flog, that will be a big change and a big signal of bad times arriving.
