The Masked Tulip
Are you on a 64 bit computer running the 32 bit version of Chrome by any chance? If so, you need uninstall it and google the 64 bit version - Google makes it a bit difficult to find the 64 bit version. Not sure if it still is in beta. The Masked Tulip
Uninstall your 32 bit version of Chrome. Shut down and restart your PC. Download the 64 bit version, install and you should be OK. Don't try to install the 64 bit version without uninstalling the 32 bit version otherwise it will still crash. The Masked Tulip
How long did that take before it crashed? Obviously you need to destroy your PC or go on a round the world yacht for a year. Or you could read this: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=chrome+crash&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=_cz9Vf_4Mcjy7AaKkqyYCA

The Masked Tulip
Update all your drivers and update to the latest windows updates. If that fails then you have a rogue app on you PC causing the crashes. Do you have adds-ons installed to the Chrome browser or some rogue toolbar installed? thombleached
Just nuke the site from orbit. I can't stand windows at times. My solution to any friend or family member when faced with an unexpected glitch is to wipe the thing and start again. Has the added bonus of getting rid of all the malware Norton/McAfee nonsense manufacturers insist on loading the OS with.

Ill_handle_it
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html It's best to uninstall chrome,or it fact almost anything, with Revo. The free version is fine. There's a problem with chrome generally atm, difficult to resolve. Installing Canary resolved in for me on W7 64 http://superuser.com/questions/582295/what-is-chrome-canary-and-how-is-it-different-from-google-chrome
