  1. While you can work up to 16 hours a week, you have to declare (with beurocratic delight) the income, which is mostly taken off your benefits - so you get stung with paperwork, and have very little real increase in income or living standards. Either way, why is a complex, beurocratic, open-to-abuse benefits system better than a flat CI?
  2. No but its proving a golden opportunity for an anarchic grab for power by all the top factions
  3. Problem is, they were a massive VI. Though I agree appointees are worse.
  4. So if I sell the grass clippings to myself for £1 each is that OK then? Seeing as I have many thousands of clippings and many thousands of pounds? D'you want to buy a bag full? I accept paypal, cheques or cash in the post...
  5. Because the assured income is meagre, and is not means tested - any work you do instantly raises your living standard.
  6. I am thinking the revelations and shaming is going to carry one getting worse for weeks, until the system is utterly destroyed
  7. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics...age-claims.html edit- quote
  8. Has anyone got thatt link to the spreadsheet with all the expenses of all the MPs to hand? I mean the one that gives ACA, office, travel, but not broken down within those categories? We are wondering about Jim Murphy the odious Scottish Secretary. If Martin is deposed there will be another Glasgow by-election. That will be small fry on the Westminster stage but hot hot hot for Scottish politics.
  9. Check out this luscious photo of Heather Brooke's chest I'd like to get my hands on those knobs
  10. I don't know, 2.6K sounds reasonable to me. Bloody meddling fees office beurocrats, dont they realise who's in charge of this country>
  11. Don't show your ignorance. Menȝies. I suppose you always pronounce the P in Camp Bell
  12. So would I Alan, and so would my wife...
  13. I thought it was interesting that there was focus on overpayment and Moats, but no-one really talked about the property speculation. Ming got closest with his righteous boast that he was renting and had no interest in London property, but no-one in the audience picked up on it or said anything about the MPs property investments and them pocketing the HPI profits.
  14. Sorry to p1ss in your tin foil hat, but dont you think newspaper sales figures are a big motivation? The TImes were offered the expenses reciepts but turned them down?
  15. Wow. Serious question, couldn't you just buy a replacement off the shelf and fit it in exactly the same mountings as the old one? (ignoring building regs as there is no "building" being done, only maintenance?) Don't they do reconditioned vintage ones? Oh the joys of lifelong renting...!!!
