The Point Of Saving Is What Exactly?

I am not going to mate, don't worry. I am just really ******* angry that the already miserly interest rates have been reduced even further  -
The Building Societies Have Betrayed Us
The Mad Rapper replied to Fed Up's topic in Cash ISA's and Savings Accounts
No, the NW have shafted all their savers today. With the exception of one bond, nothing pays more than 4% gross, the majority of their accounts are 2 - 3% -
Have just looked at the interest I am getting from the NW on 3 different savings accounts I have with them. They are all utterly ******* **** now. My Regular Saver has fallen 50% in less than a year to 3.5%, my e-Saver is now like 2.4% net and my Cash ISA is 2.6%. ******* *******! What is the point of saving? I feel like I am getting a big dry **** up my ****!

I'll have a go at answering this if I may? I could well be completely wrong, but my perception is that the general public do not associate the financial crisis and growing recession with the Government. Such a slick media offensive has been carried out to perpetuate the idea of the 'Global Economic Crisis' that many of the dullards cannot see where the blame lays!

The problem is that there is no point! In the US, there was a credible opponent in Obama, but in the UK the opposition are an utter shambles. I have zero confidence in the Conservatives and the LibDems are tree hugging losers. It's fine to think "What if..." but you need to carry that through. David Cameron is not a PM. Osborne is certainly not a Chancellor. I am no Labour supporter either, I am completely jaded and disheartened when it comes to UK politics. So, we're best off with Brown for now.

How Scared Are You Really Getting Now?
The Mad Rapper replied to Tokyo_Expat's topic in House prices and the economy
There's far too much melodrama here. Or perhaps after my time in Afghanistan it just takes a lot more to worry me?! -

Why live there then? Move. Move outside London where rent is cheaper and commute in.

Early Mid-life Crisis Alert
The Mad Rapper replied to Mikhail Liebenstein's topic in House prices and the economy
I thought the launch of the GT-R was postponed because there have been issues with people breaking the car by using the launch control too much? For the uninitiated, launch control basically is a computer controlled standing start. It works on almost any surface but places incredible strain on the mechanical parts. I think Nissan only guarantee the car to work for the first 100 such starts. -
Still Crazy In Beaconsfield
The Mad Rapper replied to hp9man's topic in House prices and the economy
I was living in Beaconsfield with my Ex (well, Hazlemere, but her parents live in Knotty Green) until last August, when she fell pregnant and kicked me out the ******* bitch! We've been backwards and forwards to Court all year to sort out access to my son because she won't let me see him, the final case will be heard in Feb 09. Anyway, I moved to London to save and am looking to move back there, renting initially. Probably Holmer Green or Hazlemere rather than Beaconsfield. I have done quite a bit of research, but even the rentals are expensive -
Should My Ex Accept This Offer?
The Mad Rapper replied to Jim B.'s topic in House prices and the economy
Fair enough, that changes things entirely. Good for you, the mark of a good Dad in my view. -
Should My Ex Accept This Offer?
The Mad Rapper replied to Jim B.'s topic in House prices and the economy
Sorry to sound harsh, but why are you getting involved? I assume she's an Ex for a reason? Let her sort it out herself. -

Actually you're wrong. You would say "I would like..." rather than "I want..." -
