I ran my business with a positive cash flow so no debt necessary. Suppliers were happy to offer 90 days EOM terms, because we always paid on time and customers were happy to pay us on 30 days EOM terms, because we always delivered product that worked first time, on time.

Companies that run on debt are vulnerable at the best of times. These are not the best of times.

What is illegal?

Aircraft and cars are different as you need a licence to operate one. As for boilers, I service my own. I'm not qualified, but I do know what I'm doing. It's hardly rocket science.

I'm pretty much against mandatory qualifications to do anything, except perhaps medical services, but even there I don't want to be told that I can't engage the services of a witch doctor if I so desire.
