Women's Manners Towards Men

Recommended Posts

I've noticed recently, that I have not been offered to be served first before a fellow female patron, when I've been clearly ahead in the "queue". Invariably the barstaff will target them first (women sticking together, men serving the T&A first, usually too busy to notice anyway), but where have ladies' social manners and morals disappeared to.

Bit of a bizarre one this as it supposed to be usually men that disregard society's mores and social etiquette.

Look at all the ads on TV mocking men as if we are dimwits and are not capable of anything. The pendulum has swung the other way now and womens lib has become men bashing...Im ok... I know I`m a dimwit so it doesnt bother me :) but I am wondering what effect this is having on young boys and young men.

Already the statistics show women are moving along the education ladder quicker than males...young women are often as bad, if not worse than men when out on the town...they think they will be looked after somehow, like magic and are not responsible for what they do...

I have always been very pro-male - too much according to my Ma! :P - but that underlined comment is just begging to be challenged.

Are you saying that women do better academically due to bias/favouritism and not brains and hard graft? <_<

Your post is resentful and unfocused, as WTF does that last sentence mean? Judging the whole on the behaviour of a few is prejudice - ie sexism.

Even if it were true, mayhap it would go some way to make up for all those females - in times gone by - who were refused access to university based on some sexist bullsh...and when they went to the effort of doing research on their own - without resources or funding - to prove they could hack it, and submitted it to a University Don, they had to witness him publish it as his own and get the kudos.

Resentful hearsay? No a matter of documented fact, if you take the trouble to read the literature. <_<

So glad to be able to debate on sexism. It seems to pass by unnoticed and largely accepted as read, on I/Net forums.

I got approached yesterday by a 15/16 year old girl "Excuse me, could you by me some drink?"

"err no, sorry!"

As for girls being academically better than boys. I agree, from the ages for 11-16 as boys have other things on their minds!

I complained to the ASA about that advert claiming that an oven cleaning product was "so easy to use, even men can do it".

You're already ahead of me here aren't you? Yes, they thought the advert was acceptable because it was jokey.

Just to make a point, I might fund an advert for a map that's soooo easy to read, even women can use it.

It will no doubt have the same effect on them, that the education system of yesteryear had on girls - who weren't given help with maths at school as they were considered not 'up to it' whilst lads were helped and encouraged to persevere. This too discoved by academic research. :D

It could be offset however by a mother who treated both sex children the same. I know a guy who would not let his infant sons have any kind of doll/teddy bears and stuff, only action men. What a plonker!

Obviously not aware that males have a tender/parenting side too.

Women do realise men cant do things they dont want to do, dont they? For instance, lately Ive found that supermarket bags are of such a low standard they are difficult to open.

So Ive just started to say, "Can you open me some bags please love, I cant seem to do it"

Most of em, say "Most men cant" , to which I chuckle and give a little pathetic shrug of my shoulders. Of course I really mean, "I dont do want to this, you're beneath me, do it for me."

Corrected for accuracy.

Despite the obvious social engineering going on (some justified, some total BS), there is still a great advantage in being male in most cases. All power to the girls that work for and achieve what they want.

But I agree that the decline in manners is lamentable... it's not just the ladies though.

They don't do better. They are distinctly average - men do both much, much better and much much worse.

Women have taken full advantage of the state - who needs men when the state can just either shake them down post children for their money/assets/house or set you up as a single mum from the get go - no need to find stable long term partners or reference anything like reality, just get your hand outs and follow your baser instincts.

2010 is going to be fun for all the welfare/CSA mums, that's for sure.

Women have been given freedom and on the whole they have made a complete **** of it.

Must be the yang in my personna, I have always read a map better than anyone else in my household, son and OH included! :P

Mind you son has a better sense of direction than I have, and my OH did have.

There are sex differences, as each sex does things better than the other. Men as a rule are able to focus on one task, where women get distracted more easily. Women o't'other hand can multi-task, necessary when one is preparing a meal, sticking plasters on little knees, and listening to hubby in from work telling about his day.

Also: female children are attracted by sounds, male children by pictorial stimuli, which is why girls fancied Frank Sinatra - great voice - not-so-great looks!

Yes, I've heard that men are more sexually stimulated by visual cues than women, hence why porn is more popular with blokes.

IS that women tho', or just a certain type who has been reared on benefits by slothful parents, to whom the only point in having children was to get child benefits. So these young girls leave home uneducated and unwanted, only to find that the state WILL support their promiscuity. This is a vicious circle which needs breaking. <_<

I blame the state - on both counts: first for supporting lack of industry/sloth and secondly for sending out the message that it is ok to bring a child into the world, when you have not the wherewithal to support it, as you will be housed, clothed, and fed by the tax payer.

Certainly assessment and teaching methods in schools now favour the average female rather than the average male. Pendulum has swung from one side to t'other.

Two wrongs don't make a right. We should be aiming for balance, not punishing one generation for the sins of the last.

If that is so, then the system ever was prone to over-compensate. Once upon a time the lower orders were treated like vermin: Now they are exalted and invited to live off the taxpayer. That is sure one helluva swing. :o

(Don't like to say 'live off the state' it gives the wrong impression. The STATE doesn't support anyone - us taxpayers do"!)

It's also the divorce laws, employment laws and so on. Women are nothing like as good as men at the top end, and much better than men at the bottom end - they are wonderfully average at most things (which means they are better than 50% of men, and inferior to 50% of men in certain areas such as intellect.)

And in both cases, it's nothing to do with the state - they set up the framework for it to happen, women choose to use it.

They don't have to, but they do. They don't have to shake their exes down for half their stuff, they don't have to claim a billion and one things on the social, they could pick decent men to start with and never be dependant or divorced- they choose to.

I do similar, "Could you open a couple of those bags for me?"

If they did retort in a shamefully man-bashing way then I'd respond...

"Well, I've got the brain power not to have to work at a checkout though...." :)

Or

I'd chin 'em ;)

They want equality; they can 'ave it..

Agreed. Just one disaster after another. Why is it that sane moderate paths are never taken? Is it because only the fervent believers can be bothered enough to get into power, or just that the real world and its issues are too complex for policy makers widdle heads and political sound bites?

If someone pushes in front of you tell them. More often than not ive found theyll buy you a drink to make up. I didnt used to say anything, as i thought id get a fat lip, more often than not though they just seem so shocked you say anything theyll agree to buy a drink.

I think the period 1900-1970 was about equal rights. The period 1970-present has been about special rights. Social scientists dont seem to understand that equality of oppurtunity and equality itself are not the same thing. At least a famous woman said something very similar to that.

There are SO many adverts on TV where women are simply putting down men in a way that would not be tolerated the other way around. I can remember one recently when it was about training your man in the way you would train a dog. Can't remember the product. I however do remember thinking of the uproar if it had been about a man training a woman like dog !!

Doesn't bother me. Doesn't bother most men either. However double standards by the womans lib gang. How many of them have complained about these adverts ? Surely if they want equality they should be complaining about ALL sexist adverts. Not just the ones against birds.

They can't have their cake and eat it. That is one of the problems with sexism. So much of it is in womens favour. Getting served first. Drinks bought for you are just a few examples. Don't hear too many women complaining about that aspect of sexism.

Choose either way birds. All or nothing. ;)

So you are tarring me - and many other women I know - with the same brush, based on a few poxy adverts? Perhaps women really are brighter than men. Your comments don't say much for your reasoning powers. <_<

There certainly are women who are female chauvinists, my wife's best friend is one. She's clever enough to be subtle about it, but it comes out quite often in her humour. I'm sure if I were to take her to task about it I'd be seen as a bully.
