I understand why. I have a 10 week old nipper who is my life. After the stress of a difficult birth that she nearly didn't survive she has become my whole reason for living. My wife gives me a regular ear bashing about renting being dead money, she has worked out our rent per annum and uses that as a weapon to ***** my STR bubble I too am going to cave soon. Lovely house though - I've always admired the river frontage as I drive past - did Abbots come up with a price eventually? M.A in Downham are quite good but for the sake of your own sanity steer clear of WHB - when we STR'd we used them and things ended very badly. I'll keep an eye out for it - maybe I will win some more cash on the Lottery or Premium Bonds and be able to afford it.

For those that can remember it JV did a show on HPC and FP was on and did a very good job of putting the case for. I know from personal experience that his production team are quite good at getting the zeitgeist and featuring it on the show. My suggestion therefore - email the show via the BBC pages and suggest they re-visit the HPC question but get the question asked once and for all... I find this quite disturbing - you're talking about this girl in terms that equate to a piece of meat? But for my money - if she's cute date her, i hope it works out ok - love comes in all shapes and sizes and someones job shouldn't be a factor. Though I might be tempted to find out first whether what's on offer is "compact and bijou" or "spacious family accomodation with enough space for further development"

Haven't read all the posts but my immediate reaction is f**k me! Why the hell buy in Norwich if you work in London? I used to do the daily commute to Kings X from Norwich and the service is as appalling and unreliable as it is lengthy and balls aching.

I'm seeing the same thing myself and I just don't get it - several in my rightmove search up by 5k to 15k in the space of a month. The only thing I can think of is price raising with a view to "The vendors are open to offers in the region of..." which amounts to the same thing really.

My local commercial radio station are running a big promotion - 50% off their standard advertising fees. I commented to the wife that if they are having to slash their only income stream by 50% it must mean that all businesses who would normally advertise with them are cutting back on their advertising budgets - it's always been my canary anyway. Mind you it would help if their advertising was more creative - I do freelance voiceovers in addition to the building work and their output is below average even for ILR, in the automobile world think Lada...

And unless it's done properly (which can cost a fair bit of money) there are no end of problems... Mainly...installing extra radiators/heating often leaves the main heating system and pump seriously overworked or underpowered (two sides of the same coin really) which can make the rest of the house very expensive to heat relative to original cost. Garages are built to a spec, living accomodation to another - garages are single skin, so you need to factor in another layer of bricks - go cheap and you'll get plasterboard. Loft space - often left unchanged (it's really not enough to throw up some insulation) Planning permission... It's a minefield - truly. I have advised this week on a property with a converted garage - their concerns are only what I would expect, it's cold, damp and seems to make the adjacent walls and rooms seem cold and damp. Yes, it will. That's because you paid some shit head builder to do it for you and he did it without any regard for how that affects the standing of other builders. As an aside, this particular property had a garage built on the front of their garage conversion - so they win every way. Except he built it on top of the manhole and now she needs to seek and get retrospective planning permission or demolish it. You pays your money, you takes your choice.
